Rohit as captain and Rahul, Pant are my options as Team India future vice-captains, says Gavaskar

sunil gavaskar, gavaskar, ipl, ipl t20, rohit sharma, virat kohliFormer India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant can be groomed as vice-captains in the shortest format of the game by the Team India management. Gavaskar also said that since Kohli has announced to step down as the T20I skipper after the upcoming World Cup, Rohit Sharma would be an ideal candidate to lead the team in the next World Cup.

“I think Rohit Sharma for the next two World Cups because they are back-to-back, one starting in a month and another exactly a year from now. So clearly, yes, you don’t want to change too many captains at this particular stage. Rohit Sharma would definitely be my choice for the captaincy of the Indian team for both these T20 World Cups. And then, I’m looking at KL Rahul as the vice-captain,” said Gavaskar on Star Sports’ show ‘Cricket Connected’.

“I would also keep Rishabh Pant in mind because he has been really impressive in the way he has led a star-studded Delhi Capitals team and the bowling changes that he has been making in the T20 format, using Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada in such a clever manner that actually shows a street-smart captain, and you always want a street-smart captain who can read situations and act immediately. So yes, Rahul and Pant are the two guys I would look at as vice-captains,” he added.

Earlier, Kohli decided to step down from T20I captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup in November this year. Kohli explained his decision to leave the T20I captaincy in a statement on social media. The India skipper said he needs to give himself space in order to play all three formats for the country.

“I have been fortunate enough to not only represent India but also lead the Indian Cricket Team to my utmost capability. I thank everyone who has supported me in my journey as the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team,” Kohli had said in a statement.

“I couldn’t have done it without them — the boys, the support staff, the selection committee, my coaches, and each and every Indian who prayed for us to win. Understanding workload is a very important thing and considering my immense workload over the last 8-9 years playing all 3 formats and captaining regularly for the last 5-6 years, I feel I need to give myself space to be fully ready to lead the Indian team in Test and ODI Cricket. I have given everything to the Team during my time as T20 Captain and I will continue to do so for the T20 Team as a batsman moving forward,” he added.

Navjot Singh Sidhu time and again displayed his character

After lots of permutation and combination somehow congress chose its new chief minister for Punjab, elections are approaching and Aam Aadmi Party is doing quite well in the state, as such crucial juncture Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as Punjab Congress chief, delivering a big shock to the Gandhis’, who may have hoped that changing Chief Ministers would help end the turmoil in the state before elections early next year. Sidhu an unreliable politician tweeted a resignation letter that hinted at his unhappiness at the ongoing changes to the Punjab cabinet.

Sidhu was upset about the cabinet changes made by new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, who was seen to be close to him. Though Sidhu was widely seen to act as “Super Chief Minister” when it came to making any decisions, he was reportedly ignored in recent appointments seen as controversial. He was also angry about key posts given to officials linked to the “sacrilege” case. Some even say that he thought he would be the next Chief Minister of state but his close aid was chosen by Gandhi for the highest post.

At this level in politics, Congress needs a person of strategy, whereas Sidhu never had any character. Rather he has destructive shots in the game of cricket or politics.BJP had timely recognized this calibre and dropped him from playing eleven. Unfortunately, Congress think tank doesn’t possess the ability to select competent person anywhere in the country. It spoiled even winning games in states such as Goa, Haryana, Karnataka, and MP, etc. Consequently, Congress has eroded the trust of its followers all over the country. No one knows how and when the Congress high command will strike the right chord.

The inner-party democracy having been crushed and the family micromanaging the party affairs is the cause of Congress caving in by itself without the need of any external forces. Navjyot Singh Sidhu not only changed political parties but also changed his career options.

After a long wait and repeated defeat since 2014, Captain Amarinder Singh, 75, took oath as Chief Minister. Third on the list of nine ministers who were sworn in was Navjot Singh Sidhu, who then quit the BJP and joined Congress. Everyone predicted that Sidhu would be to be a Deputy Chief Minister, a post he has been keen on, but was made only a cabinet minister – has been allotted the low-profile local bodies’ ministry in the Amarinder government.

Sidhu hoped that he would be suitably rewarded for joining the Congress after resigning as BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP. After leaving BJP he humped at AAP, but Kejriwal did not assure him big perks as expected by the man himself.

After the cold replies from AAP, Sidhu formed Awaaz-e-Punjab in September. Awaaz-e-Punjab was not only criticized by AAP but also called a “tonga party” by, of all people, Amarinder. Perhaps the lowest point for Sidhu came in November when Awaaz-e-Punjab fell apart as two of its members, Simarjeet Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains, joined hands with AAP. It was at this point that Sidhu had been abandoned by every major party in Punjab. By the time Sidhu joined Congress his credibility came to nicks. Now by showing immaturity he lost all the goodwill within the party.

In 1991 Sidhu was accused of assaulting Gurnam Singh and causing his death. Sidhu was arrested by Punjab Police after the incident and had to spend several days lodged in a Patiala jail.

In December 2006, Sidhu was found guilty and sentenced to a three-year prison term for culpable homicide following a road rage incident. Controversy and Sidhu walked hand in hand, the opportunist, who is fit to be a comedy show judge tried his luck in all the political parties and finally got back to congress and resigned as party chief in Punjab. His expectations were not fulfilled as he estimated it would be interesting to see how he is going to manage with what he has given or takes another rebellious step as he already has proficiency in it.

Have joined oldest, most democratic party as country can’t be saved without Congress, says Kanhaiya Kumar

kanhaiya kumar, kanhaiya, congress, kumar, joins congress, kanhaiya joins congressSoon after joining the Congress, former CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar said that he has joined the country’s “oldest and most democratic” party because he and many youngsters like him feel that the nation cannot survive without saving the Congress.

In a veiled attack at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kumar said, “I am joining Congress because I feel that an ideology is trying to ruin the values, culture, history, and future of this country… Crores of youngsters feel that this country can’t be saved without saving Congress.”

Addressing a joint press conference after joining the party, he also said, “I am joining Congress because it’s not just a party, it’s an idea. It’s the country’s oldest and most democratic party, and I am emphasising ‘democratic’…Not just me, many think that country can’t survive without Congress.” Kumar said that if the Congress is saved, the aspirations of many people along with the oneness of Mahatma Gandhi, the courage of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar’s idea of equality will be protected.

“Congress party is like a big ship if it’s saved, I believe many people’s aspirations, Mahatma Gandhi’s oneness, Bhagat Singh’s courage and BR Ambedkar’s idea of equality will be protected too. This is why I have joined the party,” said Kumar.

Further paying tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh on the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary, Kumar said, “Today is a historic day. Today is the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bgahat Singh. He is Shaheed-e-Azam. I pay my hearty tributes to the ‘icon of the youth’, Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary today.”

Former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Kanhaiya Kumar joined Congress in the presence of party leader Rahul Gandhi at AICC headquarters in New Delhi on Tuesday. Kumar met Rahul Gandhi earlier today at Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh Park, ITO, Delhi on the 114th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

Country will see ‘company raaj’ as public assets being put on sale: Rakesh Tikait

rakesh tikait, tikait, rakesh, kisan sabha, company raaj, corporate rule, farmers protestBharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Tuesday alleged the country’s entire assets are put on sale and it would see a “company raaj” (corporate rule) in the coming days as he slammed various policies of the Centre.

He said the capital of every State would witness protests for the repeal of three Central farm laws if the demands of cultivators are not accepted by the government.

Addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat in Rajim town of Chhattisgarh, Tikait appealed to youths to join farmers in their protest “to save land, crops and the generation”.

The event was attended by thousands of farmers, many of them from Punjab and Haryana, which was held under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh Kisan Majdoor Mahasangh, an umbrella organization of farmer unions.

“The day is not far when farmers will have to leave the sickle (a farm tool) and resort to revolution. We have to fight against the three agriculture laws,” Tikait said.

Referring to the 10-month-old protests at the borders of Delhi for the repeal of three Central farm laws, Tikait said that the capital of every State would witness similar protests if the demands of cultivators are not accepted by the government.

Farmers should get the minimum support price (MSP) for every agricultural produce including vegetables, and also for milk, he said.

“Till the time the Centre withdraws the three laws, farmers should not back down. You have to support the protest. If the Delhi protest fails, no such agitation will be held in future,” he said.

Hitting out at the Centre, the farmer leader said, “railways, airports, ports, LIC are being sold (to private players). The entire assets of the country are put on sale. They have come to loot the nation. They want everything to go into the hands of the private sector. The country will see a company raaj”.

He said farmers are being targeted now but the next target will be the media.

“They are trying to divide the country into castes and religions but you should not focus on their propaganda and should know only one thing that we all belong to only one community that is the farmer,” Tikait said.

Calling upon young people to join the protest, he said youths will have to take the movement to the masses through social media.

“The country needs revolution by youths. This movement will have to be carried forward through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other online platforms by youths,” he added.

Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, and other leaders of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) also addressed the gathering.

On Monday, the SKM observed Bharat Bandh mark one year since President Ram Nath Kovind gave his assent to the three controversial laws and 10 months since thousands of farmers set up camp at Delhi’s border points to voice their protest.

The three laws — The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020 — were passed by Parliament in September last year.

The Centre has projected them as major reforms, but the unions allege that the laws will leave the farmers at the mercy of big corporates. Farmers have been protesting against the three laws on Delhi’s borders since November last year.

Navjot Singh Sidhu quits as Punjab Congress chief, triggers crisis in party

navjot singh sidhu, resign, sidhu resigns, sidhu, congress,

Navjot Singh Sidhu on Tuesday resigned as the chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, plunging the party into a fresh crisis just months ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

Sidhu quit the post shortly after the allocation of portfolios to the members of the new state Cabinet.

In a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he said he will continue to serve the party.

Sidhu had taken over as the state party chief in July amid a leadership tussle with Amarinder Singh, who stepped down as CM 10 days back while accusing the party of the high command of humiliating him.

The cricketer-turned-politician didn’t elaborate why he has quit.

”The collapse of a man’s character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab’s future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab,” he said in his letter to Sonia Gandhi.

”Therefore, I hereby resign as the president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress,” he wrote.

Amarinder Singh, who had called Sidhu “dangerous” and “anti-national”, and said he will pit a strong candidate against him to ensure that he doesn’t become the chief minister, was quick to react.

“I told you so… he is not a stable man not fit for the border state of Punjab,” the former CM tweeted.

The abrupt resignation took place on a day Amarinder Singh was headed for Delhi.

Singh’s travel plan had triggered speculation that he might meet some BJP leaders.

His media aide, however, said the Congress veteran had come to the capital on a personal visit and will vacate Kapurthala House, where the Punjab CM stays during trips to Delhi.

Sidhu’s resignation has also prompted speculation over the next move of the politician, who was with the BJP before he joined the Congress.

In Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party claimed that Sidhu resigned because a poor person was made the chief minister.

Channi, who took charge last week, is the state’s first Schedule Caste chief minister.

The opposition had, however, charged that he was being overshadowed by Sidhu, who they claimed would end up being the party face when the assembly elections are held.

Who wanted Gogi the ‘muscleman’ for the DU elections to be killed?

gogi maan, gogi gangster, maan, tillu, rohini court, shootout, delhi shootoutDelhi University has seen many elections under political patronage and in the shadow of their kingpins. Indian universities have a long history of students becoming criminals and working for political powerhouses.

Gangster Jitender Gogi was a right-wing supporter; there were two different gangs in Delhi University. Who entered student politics and became rivals.

Gogi’s attacks got sharper with time, driven by revenge and thirst for extortion. “He saw himself as the new warlord of Alipur-Tajpur area. With manpower, Gogi rose to be one of Delhi’s most dreaded gangsters running extortion rackets in Delhi and Haryana,” said Delhi police.

In 2017, Gogi and his team gunned down Haryana folk singer Harshita Dahiya after he became associates with her brother-in-law while lodged in Tihar jail. In December that year, Gogi and his associates killed an MCD schoolteacher, Deepak, outside Swaroop Nagar School.

In 2018, he killed Ravi Bhardwaj, an associate of Sunil Tajpuria alias Tillu, in the Pitampura area of Delhi. According to police sources, Tillu had once vowed to kill Gogi during a court hearing.

“After Fajja’s death, Gogi was weakened; most of his close aides are in jail. Meanwhile, Tillu formed associations with other gangsters like Naveen Bali, Neeraj Bawana, and Sunil Rathi, and hatched a plan to kill him,” the officer said.

Tillu’s associate Sunil Mann was produced in the same courtroom — 207 — nearly 40 minutes before Gogi was brought in.

Delhi University alumni told Afternoon Voice, “Gogi and Tillu both were right-wing supporters, they both wanted power and position, political leaders used them for their election motives. Many politicians were closely associated with them.”

A former student of Delhi University, Sudha Gandhi told Afternoon Voice, “These two gangsters Tilu and Gogi were very bright students. They were very active and have all leadership qualities that is the reason they were assigned to control college elections. From there, things took a horrible twist.”

Jitender has also known as Gogi Dada. Moreover, he wanted to have become Sub Inspector in the police, but he could not pursue his dream. Apart from that, he has his gang members have been involved in extortion, robbery, and kidnapping.

The area from Gogi gang operated was Burari, Pitampura, Rohini, Mukerji Nagar and Rithala. He became one of the deadliest criminals in Delhi. On his killing student, unions and politicians maintained silence and refused to comment.

Tail of two gangsters – Jitender Maan alias Gogi and Sunil Maan alias Tillu Tajpuria

gogi, tillu, gangsters, tillu and gogi, rohini court, shootout at rohini courtA very dramatic and well-planned encounter of Jitender Maan alias Gogi raises many questions on the law-and-order situation in Delhi. Gogi and Tillu were childhood friends and student politicians, went on to become deadly rivals, and for more than a decade, they fought a bloody turf war that spilt blood on the streets of Haryana and Delhi.

Gogi as a teenager excelled in sport (volleyball and athletics), represented his schools at several competitions, and got admitted to Delhi University (DU) on the sports quota.

There, he and his closest childhood friend, Sunil Maan, got sucked into student politics. Maan is now better known as gangster Tillu Tajpuria in police records.

The politics and greed of power have spoiled their equations and they became sworn enemies. for more than a decade, their names surfaced together in police files and case papers that detail how they have fought a bloody turf war that spilt blood on the streets of Haryana and the National Capital.

Had the two not trod into the student politics, their paths would not have crossed, and their names may not have been on Delhi Police’s most wanted list. Perhaps Gogi would not have been inside court number 207 at Rohini on Friday, where two gunmen, dressed as lawyers, waited for him and then shot him dead.

Once a close associate of Gogi, Kuldeep Maan alias Fajja, did a brutal mistake of posting a photo of three cups for Starbucks drinks marked “Rohit, Gogi and Fajjie” The police were able to trace the photo to a Starbucks outlet in Gurgaon. Police located them in a flat at Mapsko Casabella, Sector 82, and arrested them.

He was running his extortion racket even when he was in jail. He had formed an alliance with a gangster Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi thought to be in Dubai Jathedi was arrested on August 1, 2021, with his partner Anuradha Chaudhary alias Revolver Rani at a Dhaba on Saharanpur-Yamuna Nagar highway. He attempted to extort bid Rs 5 crore from a Dubai-based businessman. Fajja escaped from the GTB hospital and was killed in an encounter on March 27, 2021

The perpetrators of Gogi killing, identified as Rahul and Jagdeep were hired by Tillu and his associates were then shot and killed by Delhi Police. The killing raised serious concerns about the security measures in place in Delhi’s courts, with many questionings about how the men were able to barge into the court complex carrying weapons. This all was not possible without support from power.

The Special Cell was on the lookout for Gogi, Fajja and Gaurav for a long time before tracing them to their hideout in Gurgaon in March last year. Gogi was involved in the killing of Haryana-based singer 22-year-old Harshita Dahiya, who was gunned down by assailants in 2017 in Panipat. He carried a bounty of Rs 6.5 lakh— a reward of Rs 4 lakh in Delhi and Rs 2.5 lakh in Haryana on his head.

Gogi and his associates were also accused of killing a local Delhi leader Virendra Mann in Narela. He had allegedly killed Mann in broad daylight by pumping 26 bullets inside his body. He had also hogged the limelight for allegedly demanding Rs 5 crore from a Dubai businessman from Tihar Jail.

In video footage of the shootout involving the two attackers, who were from the rival gang–Tillu and Gogi, gunshots could be heard and policemen and lawyers have seen in a scramble. Delhi Police spokesperson Chinmoy Biswal confirmed that three assailants were dead along with under trial prisoner Gogi. But crime won’t stop here. This killing is spine-chilling and looking at the law-and-order situation one can say even Delhi courts are not safe for a human being.

Cooperative housing societies can call for AGM till March 2022

housing society, mumbai society, agm, cooperative housing society, agm societyThe state cabinet has allowed housing societies to hold their annual general meeting till March 2022. The earlier deadline was September 30, 2021. Also, the management committees have been empowered to transact budget and appoint an auditor for the next fiscal and decide on dividends or budgeted balance left in the audited accounts.

The extension was recommended by the state cooperatives commissioner citing that only 20% of societies had their audits and budgets ready due to Covid-19 restrictions that were in place till August 31.

Upon a larger demand from among the housing societies in the Mumbai metropolitan region, the commissioner had recommended to the state cooperatives department to extend the date for holding housing society AGMs till March 2022. These AGMs mainly clear the audits of previous years, decide on the balance and appoint auditors for the new fiscal.

Both AGMs and submission of audited accounts, earlier had September 30 as the deadline which was being strongly opposed by the societies as their associations said it was a very short period to finalize accounts and issue notices to the members who All the society associations had backed the commissioner’s recommendations which awaited the nod of the cooperatives department and lastly the cabinet It may also be mentioned here that as per the recent circular society elections can be held within six months from September 16 i.e. till March 15, 2022.

You should know your rights as a housing society member?

housing society, cooperative housing society, mumbai society

Co-operative societies are largely a voluntary endeavour and the committee members are more often than not law-abiding citizens. It only behooves individual members to do their part and contribute positively towards the idea of communal living. But most of the time these volunteers take the residents for granted by throwing unwanted weight. As a resident of the owner of the flat, you must know your rights.

Model bye-laws can be quite bewildering if it is your first time as a member of a co-operative. However, with a little personal effort and research, the law can most definitely be turned into a trusted ally rather than a tormentor. Knowledge of your rights makes your life easier; not just because it encourages compliance with model bye-laws, but also because it helps you handle regular life scenarios more effectively.

We often face uncertain or unwanted situations in life that demand attention, forcing certain changes in our schedules and plans. Knowing your basic rights with respect to your living situation makes you well-prepared for such times. Whether you need to relocate to a different city, want to rent your apartment, suspect any malpractice in the society’s committee, feel the need to voice your opinions and ideas for the betterment of the society, or simply just wish to be a part of the bigger picture of a gated community, it makes complete sense to know your rights as a member first and foremost.

The biggest irony is that the said ‘Rights of Members in a CHS’, remains only on paper, never implemented in total due to loopholes in the system. The committee with the support of their favourite members manipulate the rules as per their own whims & fancies, they do not hesitate to exploit the innocent honest members of CHS who end up as a victim fighting a lone battle against Corrupt & Mal be practice if the arrogant Sec/ Chairman & Treasurer. Due to long protocols & multiple window systems, the so-called competent authorities also give a deaf ear to the grievances of the member.

In case of grievances first, you make a written request to the social committee and take an acknowledgement. And if the committee doesn’t provide you with the information required by you say within 15 days of your letter, you can file a complaint at Registrar. Most of the time the Officials in Registrar’s office are never responsive to any such initiative or complaints. You have to have that nag on following up with these registrars. Housing societies are governed bound via the implementation of the respective By-Laws of the respective state. You have to file a formal complaint i the housing society. Do contact a lawyer practising in real estate who can access the details of your particulars and represent you to your apartment committee.

A new form, M-20, has been inserted whereby elected members of managing committees have to declare they are jointly and severally responsible for all the acts and omissions detrimental to the interests of the society.

“Lack of professionalism, transparency, insider/connected borrowing, and political interference is the bane of cooperative banks. This has taken a toll on their financial health. The new measure will deter managing committee members from taking arbitrary decisions,” said a senior co-operative banker. According to another co-operative banker, the new rules could prove to be the proverbial double-edged sword.

So under the new rules, if an advance which was extended during the tenure of a member goes bad, he will be liable for it even if he ceases to be a member of the managing committee,” he explained. Residents of co-operative housing societies, who normally are reluctant to take up the honorary responsibility of looking after the affairs of the society, are expected not to join managing committees. Every elected member of the managing committee of a society shall execute a bond on a stamp paper, as provided under the Bombay Stamp Act, 1958, within 15 days of his assuming office.

The chief executive officer/secretary of the society shall receive such bonds and keep them in the records of the society and accordingly inform the Registrar of Societies within 15 days from the formation of the committee.

Further, under the rules, a provisional list of voters should be prepared by every notified society in the year in which the election of the society is due to be held. Persons who have completed a minimum of two years as members from the date of their enrolment should be included in the provisional list.

The Registrar, Cooperative Societies, has become irritating for the residents. The committee members feel as powerful as the president of this country and take the residents on a ride randomly over their own issues. Most of the time the residents become victims of such circumstances due to a lack of unawareness. They misunderstand that the social committee is the supreme power.

Under the Cooperative Societies Act, the powers of the Cooperative Committee and the rights of residents are clearly specified. Moreover, every society member should seek a copy of dos and don’ts, along with society formation agenda. You have every right to seek accountability from committee members.
