bird flu, madhya pradesh, flu, birds death

Bird flu cases have so far been confirmed in 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh, while around 1,100 crows and other wild birds have been found dead across 27 districts since the flu virus was first detected in the state last month, a government official said on Sunday.

A poultry market in Agar Malwa district has been shut for a week after the bird flu virus was detected in one sample there, the official from the public relations department said.

The district administration has started culling and burying poultry birds as per guidelines, she said.

The state government a few days back-ordered closures of poultry shops in Neemuch and Indore for a week after the bird flu infection was found in some chickens there.

The avian flu was first detected in samples of two out of 50 crows whose carcasses were found in Indore’s Residencyarea on December 29, 2020.

“The presence of the avian flu in crows and other birds (including poultry birds) has so far been confirmed in 13 districts – Indore, Mandsaur, Agar Malwa, Neemuch, Dewas, Ujjain, Khadwa, Khargone, Guna, Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Shajapurand Vidisha,” the official said.

Till Saturday evening, deaths of about 1,100 crows and wild birds were reported from 27 districts of the state, she said.

The official further said that 32 samples from various districts were sent to the National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD) in Bhopal for analysis.

The bird flu virus was not detected in the samples sent to NIHSAD from Sehore, Balaghat, Damoh, Ujjain, Betul, and Bhind districts, she said.

US Democrats Push Toward Second Trump Impeachment, Republican Support Uncertain

donald trump, trump, republican, us, senate, impeachment, us presidentDemocratic-led efforts to impeach US President Donald Trump for a historic second time gained momentum over the weekend, although it looked far from certain whether enough Republicans would back the move with just days left in his term.

Democratic members of the House of Representatives will introduce articles of impeachment on Monday after Trump encouraged his supporters to storm the US Capitol on Wednesday, Representative Ted Lieu said on Twitter. The California Democrat, who helped draft the charges, said the articles had drawn 190 co-sponsors by Saturday night. As of Saturday afternoon, no Republicans had signed on, Lieu’s spokeswoman said.

“We have videos of the speech where (Trump) incites the mob. We have videos of the mob violently attacking the Capitol. This isn’t a close call,” Lieu tweeted Saturday night. Trump initially praised his supporters at the Capitol but later condemned their violence in a video. The decision to call for calm came at the urging of senior aides, some arguing he could face removal from office or legal liability, sources told Reuters.

Impeachment by the Democratic-led House, equivalent to an indictment, would trigger an unprecedented second trial in the Republican-controlled Senate, which cleared him during his first trial over allegations that he threatened US national security. Two previous presidents were impeached but were also acquitted in the Senate. Richard Nixon resigned in 1974 over the Watergate scandal when it became clear he would be removed.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has also asked members to draft legislation aimed at invoking the Constitution’s 25th Amendment, which allows for stripping the powers from a president unable to fulfill the duties of the office. The intensifying effort to oust Trump has drawn scattered support from Republicans, whose party has been divided by the president’s actions. Democrats have pressed Vice President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment, but he has opposed the idea, an adviser said.

CNN reported late Saturday that the vice president had not ruled out invoking the 25th Amendment, citing a source close to him, but that some in Pence’s team worried any effort to remove Trump could provoke the president to rasher behavior that might put the country at risk. A Pence spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment late on Saturday.

SCATTERED REPUBLICAN SUPPORT FOR REMOVAL

A small but growing number of Republican lawmakers have joined calls for Trump to step down, and several high-ranking administration officials have resigned in protest.

Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska said Friday that Trump should resign immediately and suggested she would consider leaving the party if Republicans cannot part from him. Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania told Fox News on Saturday that Trump had “committed impeachable offenses” but declined to commit to voting to remove him.

Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, a frequent Trump critic, told CBS News he would “definitely consider” impeachment because the president “disregarded his oath of office.” But other key Trump allies, including Senator Lindsey Graham and House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy, have urged Democrats to shelve any impeachment effort in the name of unity. “Impeaching President Donald Trump with 12 days remaining in his presidency would only serve to further divide the country,” said White House spokesman Judd Deere.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate majority leader, has suggested any trial would likely occur after Trump’s term ends, when Democrats will take control of the Senate thanks to victories in two Georgia runoff elections last week. If found guilty after leaving office, Trump would still lose benefits enjoyed by ex-presidents, such as security and pension, and he would be barred from running for a second term.

But a Senate conviction requires a two-third majority, which would take at least 17 Republican votes. Democratic President-elect Joe Biden has not taken a position on Trump’s impeachment, saying he will leave it to Congress to decide. Since losing the Nov. 3 election, Trump has falsely claimed he was the victim of widespread fraud.

Bird Flu On Rise; Many Birds Found Dead Across India States

bird flu, maharashtra, birds, birds deathMaharashtra has found two parrots and a few cranes dead, Bird deaths could be due to multiple reasons; therefore, the pathology samples have been sent to the animal disease investigation lab at Pune, said Anoop Kumar, Principal Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department. In the stir of several reports of poultry, crows, migratory bird deaths in as many as five states, the other states are stepping up vigil to monitor bird movements and unusual deaths in forest areas.

On Thursday, nearly 400 birds were found dead in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat while 150 crows were found dead in Jammu’s Udhampur district. Though, their cause of death is yet to be ascertained. While at least four crows were found dead at a school in Jhansi. Though lab tests ruled out avian influenza or bird flu in this case. Earlier, the Centre held a meeting with the states to understand the status of the outbreak of avian influenza and to suggest measures to states/UTs for control and prevent the spread of the disease. So far, avian deaths have been reported from Kerala, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh.

In Himachal Pradesh, around 1,800 migratory birds, most of them bar-headed geese, have been found dead in the Pong Dam Lake sanctuary. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Environment said there are no reports of humans being infected through the disease is zoonotic. There is no direct evidence that Avian Influenza viruses can be transmitted to humans via the consumption of contaminated poultry products. Given the rising cases of an avian flu outbreak among the country’s bird population, the Maharashtra Government is on maximum alert. Many migratory bird sites, including one near the Ujani dam in the Solapur district, are being monitored.

Co-operative Housing Societies Have Gone Berserk

images 16

In a move that will have far-reaching implications for societies established under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies (MCS) Act, 1960, the state government has notified that all elected members of the managing committee of societies are required to execute a bond holding them “jointly and severally” responsible for all the decisions the committee takes. Called the MCS (Amendment) Rules, 2002, the new rules are applicable to co-operative banks, co-operative federations and co-operative housing societies, among others. A new form, M-20, has been inserted whereby elected members of managing committees have to declare they are jointly and severally responsible for all the acts and omissions detrimental to the interests of the society.

“Lack of professionalism, transparency, insider/connected borrowing and political interference are the bane of co-operative banks. This has taken a toll on their financial health. The new measure will deter managing committee members from taking arbitrary decisions,” said a senior co-operative banker.

According to another co-operative banker, the new rules could prove to be the proverbial double-edged sword. “It is like a pro-note, which makes each member personally liable. For example, even if a loan decision is taken on merits, an error of judgement cannot be ruled out. So under the new rules, if an advance which was extended during the tenure of a member goes bad, he will be liable for it even if he ceases to be a member of the managing committee,” he explained.

Residents of co-operative housing societies, who normally are reluctant to take up the honorary responsibility of looking after the affairs of the society, are expected not to join managing committees. According to the new rules, every elected member of the managing committee of a society shall execute a bond on a stamp paper, as provided under the Bombay Stamp Act, 1958, within 15 days of his assuming office. The chief executive officer/secretary of the society shall receive such bonds and keep them in the records of the society and accordingly inform the Registrar of Societies within 15 days from the formation of the committee. Further, under the rules, a provisional list of voters should be prepared by every notified society in the year in which the election of the society is due to be held. Persons who have completed a minimum two years as members from the date of their enrolment should be included in the provisional list.

The Registrar, Cooperative Societies, have become irritating for the residents. The committee members feel themselves as powerful as the president of this country and take the residents on a ride randomly over their own issues. Most of the time the residents become victims of such circumstances due to lack of unawareness. They misunderstand that the society committee is the supreme power. Under the Cooperative Societies Act, the powers of the Cooperative committee and the rights of residents are clearly specified. More over every society member should seek the copy of do and don’ts, along with society formation agenda. You have every right to seek accountability from committee members.

The basic issues such as Co-op Hsg Society where majority of the Members don’t pay their monthly Maintenance regularly. Almost 60% of the Members are defaulters including the Chairman and other Committee Members; most of the time chairman and committee member’s feel they are the owners of the society and that’s why they take these issues for granted and pressurize other members to pay over dues. The Managing Committee always has their agenda of existing with insights and favoritism. All in all the Society lands in a mess and no one knows anything about the financial status and payments of Society bills and taxes. The Chairman, Secretary and other Committee Members do not meet to take decisions and it’s just a matter of time when the whole committee united opposes when you challenge them over these crucial issues. I strongly feel there should be some Government Body which looks after such cases. And there is a need to know where one can complain so that necessary actions can be taken. Amendments to the Maharashtra co-operative society act, 1960 made many such provisions of other members and each member of cooperative housing society should be provided with the copy of the same. There are many hoodlums where the family members of committee holders not only create nuisance they damage Vehicles Park in the society complex. They pose threat to building structure by their use of heavy internal structural amendments. Moreover, they are also indulging even in eve teasing and group harassment and communal issues by making it difficult for residents. These lawless activities in society by committee members definitely have IPC provision too. If you want to remain safe and out of atrocities then please be aware of your rights, and Please ask your committee to issue directives so that you can take immediate steps to end this menace in society by the committee members.

Provided that, the member who has been so removed, shall not be eligible to be re-elected, re-appointed, re-nominated, or re-co-opted, as a member of any committee from the date on which he has been so removed or till such lesser period as may be laid down under the provisions of section 73FFF or 144E, as the case may be”. if a member of the committee has been removed under this section than he cannot be re-elected, reappointed, denominated as a member of the Managing Committee for one full term from the date he has been removed or for such period as laid down in provisions of sections 73FFF or 144E of the M.C.S. Act 1960. Subsection of 104 has been substituted to specify in which cases the appeal should lie with the registrar and in which places the appeal should lie with the State Government. The committee or any member of the society ordered to be wound up may prefer an appeal against the final order of winding-up within two months from the date of the issue of the order made under section 102.-if made by the Registrar, or the special or Additional or Joint Registrar on whom the powers of the Registrar are conferred, to the State Government. If any resident has complaint against any committee members or his conduct and behavior the provision has been given to go legal against the atrocities. Those so-called elected members are not compulsion upon you or you are not forced to take them with the kind of execution they have. Yes, but if you are going against committee with malign intentions then it would be difficult for you to prove the charges, so be honest and true while going through judicial procedures.

US Congress Accepts Electoral College Result; Confirms Joe Biden And Kamala Harris As The Certified Winners

kamala harris, joe biden, us presidency, us electionsHours after hundreds of President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the US Capitol in a harrowing assault on American democracy, a shaken Congress on Thursday formally certified Democrat Joe Biden’s election victory.

Late on Wednesday houses of Congress resumed their work on certifying Biden’s Electoral College win, with debate stretching into the early hours of Thursday. After debate, the Senate and the House of Representatives rejected two objections to the tally and certified the final Electoral College vote with Biden receiving 306 votes and Trump 232 votes. Vice President Mike Pence, in declaring the final vote totals behind Biden’s victory, said this “shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the persons’ elected president and vice president of the United States.”

The outcome had never been in doubt but had been interrupted by rioters – spurred on by Trump – who forced their way past metal security barricades, broke windows, and scaled walls to fight their way into the Capitol. Police said four people died during the chaos – one from gunshot wounds and three from medical emergencies – and 52 people were arrested.

Some besieged the House of Representatives chamber while lawmakers were inside, banging on its doors and forcing the suspension of the certification debate. Security officers piled furniture against the chamber’s door and drew their pistols before helping lawmakers and others escape. The assault on the Capitol was the culmination of months of divisive and escalating rhetoric around the November 3 election, with the Republican president repeatedly making false claims that the vote was rigged and urging his supporters to help him overturn his loss.

The chaos unfolded after Trump – who before the election refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he lost – addressed thousands of supporters near the White House and told them to march on the Capitol to express their anger at the voting process. He told his supporters to pressure their elected officials to reject the results, urging them “to fight.”

Some prominent Republicans in Congress strongly criticized Trump, putting the blame for the day’s violence squarely on his shoulders. “There is no question that the President formed the mob, the President incited the mob, the President addressed the mob. He lit the flame,” House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney said on Twitter.

Republican Senator Tom Cotton, a leading conservative from Arkansas, called on Trump to accept his election loss and “quit misleading the American people and repudiate mob violence.” Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are due to take office on January 20.

Munawar Faruqui A Comedian Who Belongs To Muslim Community

manuwar faruqui, rhea chakraborty, faruqui, arrest, madhya pradesh, comedian

Gujarat born comedian, not much famous but he has his own wounds to express hilariously. Munawar Faruqui has chosen a well-negotiated path to express the anger, hate, and pain that he had gone through due to riots. He has made fun of Lord Rama and Sita in one of his shows, trust me I am a solemn Hindu and Lord Rama worshipper, my father named me Vaidehi just because we have our own temple of Rama but I was not hurt by his comedy. The reason I was laughing at the Hindi song that he mentioned, yes, the songwriter should be equally guilty. Those who appreciated his comedy were called Hindu-hating liberals. Somewhere by doing Hindu-Muslim hate-mongering, we have forgotten to take things jokily. Well, I also agree that he should have equally made fun of Prophet Mohamad too, as there are many laughable stories on him, but this time he would not have beaten but beheaded.

In a very pre-planned strategy, he was invited to Madhya Pradesh. The attackers precisely booked the tickets for his show. Rest you all know what happened. The question is that, will he stop making jokes which end up hurting the fragile sentiments of so many people? To be honest, he cracks jokes on Burkha, Tripple Talaq, and on other things related to Islam as well. I’ve been watching his videos for months and haven’t seen him abusing Hindu Deities. He cracks jokes I admit but jokes are not much offensive unless you follow religious politics having fragile sentiments. Moreover, he puts a disclaimer stating “This video has occasional use of strong language”. If you’re this fragile then why do you watch his jokes? Why do you attend his standup shows? Simply Ignore. You should know eighty percent of his viewers are Hindu, hardly any Muslin goes to watch his comedy. Who should be blamed? Is this an attack on the personal liberty of an Indian citizen in the name of religion? As he is vocal against the central government. Hence, some local thug aka workers of a particular political party first attended his show and then created a scene for cracking jokes in some of his old shows.

In Madhya Pradesh’s show, he did not make any offensive comments. The irony is that the people supporting his arrest are the same people who appreciated and supported France President on the hold of Blasphemy but when it comes to their religion, they suddenly became fragile. Hindus are actually “ToLeRaNt” until someone is cracking jokes on their religion. These are the same people who make fun of Islam and Prophet Mohammad, if you recollect the Bangalore incident, some of the BJP workers made derogatory remarks of Islam and incited riots. But we were with rioters because he gave us sadist pleasure by attacking our self-assumed religious rival. Section 295A in The Indian Penal Code (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) should be scratched out and everyone should get the freedom of speech.

Well, Munawar handled the situation gracefully, apologized for the video he made four years back. The complaint was filed by the BJP leader’s son in law. His religion was referred to various times. If this were only about Hindu Gods, why bring up his religion? If this has nothing to do with his religion, why is Charlie Hebdo brought up in every discussion related to this case? Why did the goon falsely accuse Muslims of not being tolerant? These arguments weren’t required if this had nothing to do with Munawar’s religion. The dictators have always been afraid of comedians. It is like a Nazi-state where people will dig your past and attack you years later. As a result, he has become (in)famous.

Farooqui had to delete his Twitter account. The same people applauding France for their tough stand on Freedom of Speech are suppressing speech in their own nation. The reason, in both cases, the target is from the Muslim community. We have cases like Charlie Hebdo every month in India. Right-wing supported Charlie Hebdo but not the victims of lynching. They were garlanded and got the first-row seat in the political rally. We should learn to respect artists. If you want to use regressive laws to harass someone, don’t stop the show. You have no right to disrupt a show. A counter-complaint should be filed against the goons for disruption and not letting a person carry on its service. No one gives a damn about your selective sentiments. If you have a problem, don’t watch his show. If you can’t tolerate people like him, get stronger. You are not any better than people who call out to lynch people or kill people for hurting religious sentiments. If you all want to continue doing this, then stop talking about Arab Nations, Pakistan. You are the one pushing for the same ideology in your own country. As a common man of India who is not a member of the secular-liberal gang, I demand equal punishment and condemnation for all such incidences by one and all.
