Malik said that Pankaja is not serious about resolving water scarcity issue as she had opposed the government’s proposal to cut water supply to breweries in the state.
NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik took a jibe at Maharashtra Rural Development Minister Pankaja Munde by addressing her as liquor lady for opposing the government’s proposal to cut water supply to breweries in the state. He appreciated the efforts of Mrinal Gore and Ahilya Rangnekar and called them water women. However, he criticised Pankaja and said that she was busy in taking selfies and is not bothered about resolving water scarcity issue faced by the state. Malik said that Pankaja had only toured Marathwada for garnering cheap publicity.
Malik also questioned the manner in which Pankaja has been holding two director identification numbers. He added that being a cabinet member in the BJP led government Pankaja must issue a clarification about how she was holding two numbers.
Malik said Pankaja is on the board of directors of more than 36 companies and has two Director Identification Numbers (DINs), which is illegal.
“Ms Munde has given two DINs for her company businesses — 02241393 and 00489330. For the first DIN, her father’s name is mentioned as Munde Pandurang Gopinath and for the second, her father’s name is mentioned as Munde Gopinath,” alleged Malik.
Three days ago, Mr Malik had alleged that Ms Munde’s husband uses two different names in his commercial dealings. “On her website, she has mentioned her husband’s name as Dr Amit Palve, while in an election affidavit of 2014 the name is mentioned as Dr Charudatta Palve,” he said.
He alleged that she had taken a firm stand against water cut to liquor- and beer-manufacturing units in Marathwada, as she is associated with a liquor firm in the region. “From the records of the ministry of company affairs, she was the director of a liquor manufacturing unit, Radico Distilleries Maharashtra,” Malik said.
The comments made by Malik against Pankaja has not gone down well with
Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghtana.
Sadabhau Khot, Swabhimani Shetakari Sanghatana state unit president said, “Malik must apologise for the statements made by him against Pankaja or else he won’t be permitted to travel anywhere in Maharashtra.”
Earlier Pankaja Munde came under fire from not only opposition but also ally Shiv Sena, after she posted selfies on her tour of parched Latur in appreciation of the work done there by the local administration for drought relief. She was trolled on social media sites with people accusing her of finding a photo opportunity in the middle of a massive disaster.
