Political game is over

Supreme Court in a landmark judgment relinked religion, caste from from politics and it appears a great move in a country where religion and caste play a prominent in Indian politics. Thus one more route for corrupt politicians is cut short. The apex court’s ruling declares seeking votes on these grounds amounts to corrupt practice. It is held that the electoral process is essentially a secular activity and hence the religion has no place in it. Even though it was a shock for the political big wigs, religious organisations across the ideological divide welcomed the ruling. It was indeed a right step in the right direction. Thus the political parties cannot solicit votes in the name of religion or caste. The relationship between God and Man is well defined and it should cross the boundary line on any count. With Uttar Pradesh assembly elections just round the corner the Yadav’s are fighting with each other to achieve supremacy will face music.
