Ponds in distress

India was at one time full of ponds that accommodated fishes, living organisms and bathing children. But more and more of them are being filled up. It has taken us one more step away from clean, fresh air and healthy physical exertion.

It is the responsibility of the government to save our natural environment. They must crack down on the miscreant who usurps the land illegally. They must protect the ponds and encourage the tree plantation around the areas. We always read reports about landowners filling up ponds across the city. We hope that the government will pay heed to this and take immediate actions.
