(Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) launched by PM Modi, Smart Cities Mission and Housing for All schemes to ensure basic infrastructure and sanitation in the country, adding that two crore new houses will be built for urban poor.
“AMRUT will build 2 crore houses for urban poor. Every uban poor will be able to hold a house,” Modi said. Under the scheme, central government will provide assistance of Rs. 1-2.3 lakh for every house.
Shares of HDFC closed 2.23 per cent higher at Rs. 1,309.20. The scrip opened at Rs. 1,268 and has touched an intra-day high and low of Rs. 1,313 and Rs. 1,268 so far.
For the quarter ended March 2015, the mortgage lender registered a consolidated net profit of Rs. 2,646.35 crore, up 9.59 per cent, against Rs 2,414.70 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
