Gujarat roads are prone to accident and it is under the siege of fire and in the news for sometime now. Eleven members of a family were killed in a gruesome road accident in Gujarat. The family was heading towards Palitana, a pilgrimage town for Jains, when the accident occurred. The driver was sleeping at the time of accident as the vehicle jumper the meridian and hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction. The dead included five women. One teenage boy was critically injured. Goa and Gujarat roads are witnessing worst road accidents in recent times. The impact of the collision was such that the front portion of the jeep was totally damaged. Van drivers are made to work on double shift and they lose the much needed sleep resulting in such fatal accidents. It is high time that the owners of such vehicles should have a time schedule for drivers and monitor their hourly working hours through an app. If they do overtime stop them from doing extended service and thus prevent major mishaps on the highways.
