abhinandan-lodhaThe Shiv Sena is eyeing the south Mumbai constituency by fielding BJP sitting MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha’s son Abhinandan Lodha who is a Shiv Sena candidate. Congress MP Milind Deora has won the Lok Sabha election twice from South Mumbai which is considered as one of the high profile area of the city.

Since majority of the population of this area belongs to Gujarati, Marwari and Marathi community hence Sena is fielding Lodha to challenge Deora. Earlier Bhartiya Janata Party used to field their candidate for the Lok Sabha election. However this time the Shiv Sena will be fielding their candidates in this constituency.

Earlier discussion were held for fielding BJP sitting MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha from the south Mumbai constituency but now Mahayuti has taken a decision that Abhinandan Lodha against Milind Deora with an intention to garner more votes from this constituency.

Sources from Mahayuti spoke to AV on the condition of anonymity and said, “With an intention to give a tough challenge to the Congress sitting MP Milind Deora we are planning to field such a candidate who can lure voters from Gujarati, Marwadi and Marathi community. Abhinandhan Lodha is an able candidate hence he is likely to contest from south Mumbai.”

Most of the voters in south Mumbai constituency belong to Gujarati, Marwadi and Marathi communities. Abhinandan Lodha can attract Gujarati and Marwadi voters and win their confidence. Abhinandhan can give a tough fight to Milind Deora in the south Mumbai constituency.

Nobody is willing to question Mangal Prabhat Lodha because of his strong financial status. The party is searching for some financial heavy weight candidate and Abhinandhan fits the bill. Mangal Prabhat Lodha is the founder of the renowned Lodha Group a real estate firm.

Shiv Sena had fielded Mohan Rawle from south Mumbai constituency who was defeated by Milind Deora. Rawle came third while the second position was held by MNS candidate Bala Nandgoakar.

AAP leader Meera Sanyal will be contesting election from the south Mumbai constituency whereas Milind Deora will be contesting election for the third time from the same place. The MNS too is likely to field Bala Nandgoakar from this constituency. The Shiv Sena- BJP Alliance is yet to declare the list of the candidates who will be contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
