Shame on the national electronic media!

24×7 live channels does have its own challenges but nonstop reporting of Sridevi’s sad demise in Dubai meant other important news that affects our nation got buried under the carpet. It was a boon in disguise for BJP politician Manoj Baitha who mowed down nine kids in Muzaffarpur and escaped when the nation’s attention was focused on Sridevi’s death.

Also, there are too many speculations to the cause of Sridevi’s death as every channel has its own version for TRP’s and that is sad as ‘Death’ needs to be respected. Let the investigation team do its job and media should report facts rather than speculate which gives wings to rumours. Journalism is a thankless job and media should act as the watchdog of society rather than speculate events which is sad but true of today’s electronic media which competes with each other for TRP’s!
