Success can’t be achieved without discipline

I had received an opportunity to visit many countries several times. Mumbai da jawab nahin.  “Aye dil hai muskil hai jeena yahan, jara hat key jara bach key yeh hai Mumbai meri jaan”. However, there is lack of enough playgrounds and swimming pools in the metropolis and city planners must take a note of this. Medal winners from Rio Olympics have received excellent parental support and were well trained by athletes and coaches. Sakshi Malik’s father said that he did not listen to what people said and instead allowed his daughter to join wrestling. Sakshi was recommended for Khel Ratna. She was overjoyed about the possibility of joining the ranks of Sachin Tendulkar and Leander Paes, who had made the nation proud. With the win, 23-year-old Sakshi became the fourth Indian woman athlete to clinch an Olympic medal after Karnam Malleshwari, Mary Kom and Saina Nehwal. I have always advocated the need for good trainers not only in sports but in all vocations and the government must focus on this aspect. Provide genuine trainers to athletes monitor their performance and results will be visible at the international arena.

I have always advocated at least one year national service for CCS aspirants and even others. Training should be imparted to youth without providing them access to mobile phones. Even Gopichand didn’t allow PV Sindhu to use mobile phones for two months. Olympic silver medallist P.V. Sindhu was accorded a grand welcome in Hyderabad. Amid scenes of jubilation and loud cheers, Sindhu, accompanied by coach Pullela Gopichand, was greeted by her parents — P.V. Ramana and P. Vijaya. She waved to the cheering crowd from an open top vehicle as the procession began from the airport towards Gachibowli stadium, where the Telangana government had organised a gala felicitation ceremony for the ace shuttler. Telangana Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Mahender Reddy and Srinivas Yadav and senior Congress leader V. Hanumanth Rao, Andhra Pradesh Ministers Devineni Uma, Chinarajappa were among those who welcomed Sindhu. Success can’t be achieved without discipline.

Parliamentarians are performing good work but they must learn Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid techniques. They must voluntarily undergo medical examination and submit a report to parliament. This will encourage others to remain fit. Lack of fitness is our main concern. These days too much politics is happening over cow. All ministers and MPs who have bungalows in Delhi, must nurture two cows. Political parties are criticizing the apex court’s order capping the height of Dahi Handi pandals. This issue must be resolved by local residents but they lack discipline.
