Now that’s a way to show support! Taylor Swift gave Kesha an incredible donation of $250,000 to help her through her legal trouble with Dr. Luke.
Before Taylor pitched in, several other female superstars showed their support for Kesha on social media after her record contract was upheld on Feb. 19. Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson,Ariana Grande, Lorde, and Demi Lovato all declared that it’s wrong for Kesha to be denied freedom from her alleged abuser. With Taylor’s donation on top of the flooding support, Kesha’s mom made sure to point out the powerful impact these famous voices are making during Kesha’s court battle.
In the two years since Kesha initially sued Dr. Luke for assaulting her when she was 18, she hasn’t been able to release any music, really putting a strain on her emotions and her career alike. Hopefully Taylor’s donation will give Kesha the extra boost she needs since the painful ruling — or at the very least, get the judge’s attention that this legal dispute isn’t over until Kesha gets her peace.
