It is sad to see that our society has no regard for stray animals. Our attitude towards animals is horrible. It breaks my heart to see people, including adults, beating animals with sticks and stones. We are not willing to accept that animals have rights as well. They also deserve to be treated with kindness. In our society, stray dogs are treated with extreme cruelty. In fact, the authorities too never think twice before launching a drive against stray dogs, killing poor animals with guns and poison. As a result, these dogs die a slow and painful death.
What does a dog lying on a footpath say to people? Does he attack them? Is he any kind of a nuisance? It is time the government took strict action against people who torture animals. Additionally, shelter homes should be built for homeless animals so that they can live in a safe environment.
