WeVoo, a mobile APP that can turn your ordinary chats into effective communications – face-to-face and real time action.

Harry Sangha, Founder of WeVoo thought to himself, “Every time I wanted to record a video of an event or occurrence and share it with my friends and family, my phone would run out of space”, he pondered if there was a better way out. This idea sparked the birth of WeVoo.com, an interactive mobile app that allows users to chat by sharing live-streamed videos with other users from their mobile contacts. Videos get saved on the cloud rather than your phone.

Face-to-Face communication can be done using either the private or public streaming feature of the app. If a user decides to broadcast only to a private group these people who also need to be users of the app to view the video will receive a notification and invite from the broadcaster. They can then view the video and even chat with the broadcaster simultaneously using a chat function. This feature is mostly chosen for broadcasting proceedings of parties and get-together with friends and relatives in another location.

Alternatively one can even broadcast a video for public consumption which is available for viewing by anyone who uses the app and wishes to watch it. The icing on the cake is free 5 MB cloud storage. Users can also buy extra storage: 5 to 20 GB at $1.99 and 20 to 100 GB at $5.29. The only catch to enjoying a good video viewing experience is ensuring one has access to a strong and dependable 3G internet connection.

WeVoo is designed by a company with the same name where Harry Sangha is the founder along with his friends Krishna Kumar and Deepak Khanduri. The app was born out of Harry’s despair at being unable to record, share and store videos within the same app.

“Every time I wanted to record a video of an event or occurrence and share it with my friends and family, my phone would run out of space” said Harry.

At the time, the trio were working together in CloudCreo, their New Jersey based company which offered cloud management products. Once this idea took root in their consciousness, they decided to focus solely on creating the WeVoo app and created a company for it.

In the age of Instagram, Dubsmash and post-Vine where everyone considers themselves a photographer and videographer, WeVoo, which was launched on Android on December 1st, 2015 and on iOS in early January this year already has over 4000 users across 26 countries and 36 languages. It goes beyond allowing users to engage in their videography skills to even enabling them to participate in citizen journalism and broadcasting birthday, anniversary and other functions with family members who are far away and cannot participate any other way.

The WeVoo founders have bigger dreams for their app which they hope will revolutionise the way people connect and share ideas. Future versions of the app will include features that allow uplinking and sharing videos on Facebook and Twitter. They are also focused on driving usage of the app and building a strong user base. For now though, the WeVoo team hopes many more people will use the app to record and share lasting memories!

The app can be downloaded from your IPhone and Android mobile devices. The sign-up process is streamlined: you simply download the app, register with a one time, two-step field submission, and SMS authentication. There is no user ID or password required once you’ve registered. Once registration is complete, the app automatically populates contacts from your mobile device so you can see which of your contacts are using WeVoo.com and you can follow contacts that most matter to you. There is no limit to the number of contacts you invite to watch your streamed videos.
