Much has been written about the interesting and unusual casting of Anurag Kashyap`s `Bombay Velvet`.
The film still has some months ahead of its release but the buzz around it refuses to die. According to reports, actress Anushka Sharma, who will be seen playing a jazz singer in the film has donned a 35 kg gown for a special sequence.
The elaborate heavy gown has been designed by Niharika Bhasin Khan of `The Dirty Picture` fame. The green-coloured gown has a long train of cloth which required extras to pick it up, while Anushka was preparing for her look, reportedly. It will be interesting to see this bubbly `Band Baaja Baarat` girl do a jazz number in the film.
Kashyap`s `Bombay Velvet` stars Ranbir Kapoor opposite Anushka. It also has filmmaker Karan Johar doing a cameo and if grapevine is to be believed KJo will be seen in grey shades. Kashyap is known for his kind of cinema (read Gangs of Wasseypur I, II), will he be able to pull off this commercially viable venture with equal ease, remains to be seen.
