Uttar Pradesh is a curse for the nation. Politics in that state is putting common man’s life at stake. On an average, on every third day riot like situation happens in the largest state of the country. Why? No reason. One more shameful incident has surfaced in the violence hit Saharanpur region in which a girl from Kharaunda was first gang-raped and later on was forced to accept Islam as her religion. As per reports, the girl who was abducted on July 23, reached the police station in cataleptic state along with her family where she reported the entire matter to the police and told that she was forced to accept Islam as her religion and was also gang-raped in a Madarsa in Hapud. In her statement to the police, the girl said that she was kept captive for the past 10 days in a Madarsa. Adding further, she said that although she managed to escape from the place however, there is a Madarsa in Mustafa Colony of Muzaffarnagar where as many as 40-45 girls have been kept in captivity. I don’t doubt the statements of this girl, but if she is missing for ten days, why girl’s parents have not registered any missing complaint and if according to report many girls are kept captive there then why there are no missing complaints filed by their parents in various police stations? How can parents keep quiet for these days? Where were these ‘so called’ custodians of Hindutva then and now ransacking the road and troubling the common people’s life?
A few days back, there was news of love jihad. Earlier, there was riots in Saharanpur. What action was taken by the police since the girl’s missing report was lodged? In order to have firm improvement in law & order and internal security related situation in the State, only removing or suspending the faulty officials is not enough. They should be punished immediately through some mechanism in the law. Such action with transparent follow up only can improve Akhilesh’s image in the remaining period of his tenure as CM. It was after the victim recorded her statement that police raided the respective Madarsa which the girl had talked about. During the raid, they found as many as 20 girls missing. As per reports, serious charges have been registered against the Hafiz of the Madarsa along with the village headman and nine others after the higher authorities reached the place of crime. This incident has aroused tension in the district. Protesting against the shameful act, BJP workers have blocked the Meerut-Hapud road. During the protests, the BJP workers even entered into a fight with the police officials. Reports suggest that the victim who was a graduate, used to teach English and Hindi in a Madarsa. However 6 months ago, she had stopped teaching. Since when are the Madarsas allowing Hindu girls to teach there?
They took the girl to the Madarsa in Hapud where they gang-raped her and forced her to accept Islam. Also, they assaulted her and warned her of dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police. In her complaint to the police, the rape victim added that she was abducted by the village headman Nawab Khan, Hafiz Sannaullah, his wife and daughter Sana alias Nisrat among others. She even said that she was drugged and kept in custody; however she managed to escape from the place.
Religious attacks are not new by political parties and extremists groups. There are many sponsored agendas that these extreme organisations carry out to spread hatred among people. These street politicians hardly know anything about religious preaching or decorum. They just call themselves savior of Islam or savior of Sanatan Dharma or Hindutva. Here starts dirty game. We might be known as a developing country but our nation is cursed with poverty and unemployment. And here they target below poverty level people and exploit them. If a Hindu is getting converted to Christianity or to Muslim religion then it’s his helplessness. He is been provided with his basic priorities to lead a normal life. Whosoever makes his life easier is god and religion to him. You can’t preach an empty stomach. Hindus need to be strong and united with proper support system to their community. Believe me, no one will opt for conversion, when poor gets upliftment and community welfare though you. We randomly attack government and pass the buck. This is how religious fundamentalists take advantage by converting the needy to their religion. Fighting in the name of religion is meaningless. We all humans have evolved from common ancestor, since we have 99.9 per cent of the same genetic material. Religion is the solution to the rational mind which cannot attribute reason, as some things are still not unraveled. Religion will get diluted as years go on. Earlier, people were taking religion seriously but now world is losing faith in religion. Science is revealing many things; we are brothers and sisters. Let us live like a legend and not cowards.
Another biggest issue is love-jihad. Various Hindu fundamentalist organisations are working on this burning issue and some are just backing. Its general notion is that Muslim youth exploit young Hindu girls by luring them with various things. The local Muslim leaders like SP/BSP protect these Muslim youths from the police and the law. Most alarming is what a Meerut MLC, who represents teachers, says, “The genesis of the trouble (the Muzaffarnagar riots) is the increasing cases of molestation ever since this government came to power and its refusal to register complaints against the goons. The parties that propagate Hindu nationalism obviously will take the advantage of this.”
Muslim youth started this type of love-Jihad first in Kerala, which is a highly populated Muslim state. Hindus have a sectarian interpretation of this. “Cases of love jihad are on the rise in western UP wherein Muslim young boys are enticing Hindu girls into love affair, exploiting them, marrying them after converting them to Muslim and then moving away to the next victim. Most of them hide their real names and religion in this whole exploitation scheme. They practiced this in UK by exploiting under-age girls for sexual activities by Pakistani origin Muslims and got imprisoned recently.
Very well educated and high profile Hindu girls have fallen in love with Muslim boys and married them. I can give you the example of Suhashini Haider, Lakshmi Nizamuddin, Kareena Kapoor, Ratna Pathak, Gauri Khan. They knew what they were doing and they are successful in their lives. Please stop casting aspersions on genuine love. Whenever and wherever the riots have shown its cruel face, stories of Muslim boys raping Hindu girls in the name of love jihad and Hindu guys raping Muslim girls (which is very rare) becomes news. But, I sincerely feel pity for such people and their stale mindset that are hell-bent on taking our countrymen for a ride in the name of the religion. These politicians themselves do not follow the first basic law of any religion i.e. love and respect humanity. Moreover, continuously branding a particular community has already done so much damage.
It’s sad to see that we are still focusing on issues of religion like pre Independence days.
