Sanatan Sanstha has alleged that the witness Sanjay Sadwilkar has been giving misleading statements about Narendra Dabholkar case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for maligning the image of the institution. The outfit added that the Sadwilkar is a corrupt person and questioned how much money has been paid to him by the CBI for issuing false statements? They also demanded a probe into this case for unveiling the truth. Sanatan criticised AAP leader Ashish Khetan and asked how does he remain aware about the proceedings of this case and how does CBI conduct raid after disclosures are made by him about Dabholkar case?

Abhay Vartak, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha said, “It’s unfortunate that everytime Sanatan Sanstha’s name crops up in the Narendra Dabholkar murder case. The witness Sadwilkar is a history sheeter and is known for indulging in anti-social activities. The effort to implicate an innocent person on the basis of false allegations of such tainted person puts a question mark on the credibility of CBI and brings disrepute to BJP government.”

“Sadwilkar is a corrupt man facing charges of swindling Mahalaxmi Temple money. He had misappropriated silver ingots provided to him for making silver chariot for Goddess Mahalaxmi. Way back in the year 2012, the District Collector indicted Sadwilkar in his reasoned report, however he could escape from the clutches of law for four long years due to blessings of Congress and NCP politicians,” he added.

Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad exposed this scam involving misappropriation of usurping of land, misuse of mining permits and misappropriation of jewellery and funds of Mahalaxmi Temple and other 3066 temples under the management of Pashchim Maharashtra Devsthan Samiti. The petition filed by the outfit with Chief Minister contained a specific mention about Sadwilkar. This happened prior to the killing of Pansare. The public outrage and resultant agitation to punish these scamsters finally led to orders from Chief Minister for a CID inquiry into the scam committed by Sadwilkar and others. Aggrieved by the lead taken by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and hundreds of sadhaks of Sanatan Sanstha in this agitation and apprehending an arrest several scamsters in Kolhapur began a clamour against very presence of organizations like Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sanatan Sanstha in the city.

Advocate Sanjiv Punalekar said, “To scuttle the inquiry and investigation into his misdeeds Sadwilkar had participated in a conspiracy to defame Sanstha which would also help him to divert the attention from scams committed by him in Mahalaxmi Temple.”

“Sadwilkar received silver ingots weighing 283 kilograms and the contract of silver quoting was accorded to him without inviting tenders. Neither quantity nor quality of the silver so tendered and actually utilized was measured at any point of time. Due to these serious irregularities, Sadwilkar was bound to cool his heels in jail,” he said.

“It is clear that Ashish Khetan who boasts of having perused all investigation papers well in advance has set up this witness through corrupt means. CBI which is treating Maharashtra police personnel including its top officials with contempt is keeping Khetan in the loop. It is shameful that Khetan has emerged as a supremo of CBI while the Home Minister Rajnath Singh has been completely kept in dark,” said Abhay Vartak.
