As in the past, the voters of Punjab made a mistake of electing Navjjot Singh, a court jester to the assembly and as a joke of all he was made a minister as well. The incumbency factor gave Sidhu and the Congress to run home victorious and now the comedy of errors saw the anchor would like to participate in the television show and at the same time hold a post in the Punjab ministry. This may cause friction with Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh as the work will get affected as the ex-cricketer will be more inclined towards TV comedy show and allot more time rather than working for the welfare of the Punjab residents. This is one more case of having the cake and eating it too in the reality show. It is time to end such conflict of interests as done by the Lodha Committee and Supreme Court in case of BCCI. Now the cricket board is coming to terms and likewise the MLA’s and MP’s should be put in place with proper guidelines before the situation goes out of hand.
