Rahul Gandhi’s image as Congress vice- president is tarnished as its presence in UP was cut short to the minimum and the party position in Jharkhand touched a new low. Despite all the big talks and the last ditch to join SP in coalition the so called ghatbandhan failed to come up well and further weakened by the presence of Congress in a Yadav managed state. We failed to understand the way Rahul blamed BJP at every stage and went on to criticise the functioning of EVMs. Congress may resort to rejig the party cadre and work for its revival. Instead Rahul played the blame game of BJP using money power. Congress on the other hand was so near but BJP put a brave fight and Congress now slams BJP for nothing. It is very difficult to match ideology of BJP while conceding that there was a need to make structural changes in the Congress party in the days to come for resurgence.
