India is a secular, democratic nation and the citizens of this country come under the ambit of a single legal mechanism, irrespective of their caste/ religion, etc. The demand for separate legal systems for every religion is unscientific and anachronistic apart from jeopardising the spirit of secularism defined in our Constitution. In a secular democracy, Constitution is supreme and religious tenets cannot override it.
