Medical stores and many other shops don’t accept cards these days on account of exorbitant charges they have to pay to banks. Some shops charge 2 per cent over and above your bill amount if you want a card payment. Digitization is a ‘googly’ on the citizens and it seems this whole exercise is to get extra revenue to the government and the banks and other companies which has issued payment wallets as well as cards.
Cashless economy is necessary but not by robbing the citizens of the country. ‘Achche din’ promised by the Prime Minister is a distant dream but it seems it has become a reality for the government and card companies. Courts should intervene and see to it that the citizens of the country are not fooled in the name of going cashless. This is a bigger scam and corruption than the parallel ‘cash’ economy!
