Eva Longoria relished being single following her divorce from Tony Parker.
The 40-year-old actress was married to the French basketballer from 2007 until 2011 and has admitted she needed to be single for a period of time before she could commit to another relationship.
Eva – who got engaged to José ‘Pepe’ Bastón earlier this month after two-and-a-half years of dating – said: “Some people said, ‘Oh. You don’t want to be alone.’ And I said, ‘I’m not alone! I’m with myself. And myself is fabulous.”
Even when she was the sole singleton on a European couples trip, the former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star felt perfectly at ease with the situation.
She told a leading magazine: “People went, ‘Aw. Did you feel weird?’ And I said, ‘No! I had so much fun! These are my best friends.
“It’s not like you change because you became a single person. It’s not like you become an alien.”
What’s more, Eva said the experience taught her a number of valuable life lessons.
She shared: “I learned to be content on my own.
“I think I needed that to be ready for what I have with Pepe.”
