Haphazard war preparedness

‘CAG’ has published a report that the Armed Forces just have ten days’ ammunition stocks with them. Such a sorry state of the nation’s war preparedness is in favor of the enemy. What kind of war preparedness is this for a nation with a population of more than 125 crores? It would not be wrong to say that this is cheating the citizens and the armed forces. The enemy always attacks by identifying weakness. And Bharat at present is in a weak condition, and that is why the enemy is posturing strong.  Armed forces have soldiers ready to give their all for the nation. But without adequate ammunition how can they fight the enemy? It is known that in the annual budget a large amount of money is spent for the armed forces. But the amount of ammunition with the armed forces look very small compared with the budgeted amount. Through the CAG report, specific points in various sectors are identified. Steps have to be taken to answer these points and set them right. If this is not done then the questions raised in the previous report are again raised, and new shortfalls are added to the list. There has been a change of guard at the center, but no change is to be seen in the war preparedness of the country. CAG report strengthens this premise. And the enemies are waiting in full alert while India slumbers.
