Our firemen and policemen will become strong and healthy if they can consume fruits and vegetables at cheaper rates. How can we eat blackberry when it costs Rs 80 for 250 gm and “litchi” Rs 400 per kg. In Singapore, the Chinese “litchi” costs five Singapore dollars per kg and it is likely to be cheaper in Myanmar. Burmese girls are very simple, beautiful and hard working and apply sandalwood paste on their foreheads and cheeks. Through these columns, I want to request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to open up trade with Myanmar so that we can procure fruits, vegetables and pulses at cheap rates.

Janhavi Gadkar a 35-year-old lawyer has been accused of driving her Audi Q3 under the influence of alcohol and hit a taxi few days back at Eastern Freeway. Two of five people travelling in the taxi have been killed. Janhavi’s car narrowly missed hitting two bikes and riders of the bikes chased her car later. Senior official of Mumbai Police informed that the lawyer has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and for rash driving. She appeared to be in an inebriated condition at the time of accident. Janhavi is the Vice President (Legal) with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) admitted to a doctor that she had consumed alcohol while driving the car. After the accident, the accused fled from the spot to leave victims behind. Mumbai police will intensify vigil at entry and exit points of Eastern Freeway which connects Chembur to south Mumbai. Didn’t the security official of the restaurant notice Janhavi while driving her vehicle after consuming alcohol?

If you check my blood pressure you will find it to be normal. However, if the same test is conducted on the policemen, firemen and BMC personnel you will notice that most of them are overweight and have high blood pressure. Very few of them will be six feet tall and well built. This is because they are unable to have nutritious food.

I have pleaded a number of times that the efforts of the governments must be concentrated on providing clean drinking water to our citizens and cattle. Without this we cannot qualify to be called as a developed nation. The health of our citizens is deteriorating.

Former Delhi Law minister Jitender Singh Tomar was arrested for allegedly using fake degrees to enroll as an advocate. Tomar, who quit as Delhi Law Minister after his arrest claims to have done his BSc from RML Avadh University, Faizabad. The Delhi police are trying to gather evidence to ascertain the veracity of his documents. A case of cheating, forgery and conspiracy has been filed against Mr Tomar for allegedly faking degrees.

Tomar defended himself by saying that it’s a conspiracy of the BJP government at the centre and it is disrupting the functioning of the Delhi government.
