Here’s why government is not doing their job

Civic and State government’s performance have been dismal, to say the least, and facilities offered to the people have been deteriorating over the years. Roads in the city are worst than even countryside and fatal accidents of tree fall deaths are a result of poor maintenance of our green belt where trimming work is suspended as it costs money. Strange regulations even don’t permit citizens to carry our urgent civic repairs with their own funds and those who do are penalized. BMC is the richest civic body in the world but corruption rules roost in every department which has resulted in the civic mess we live in today.

Dual power with civic body and State government means both are at loggerheads and both keep blaming each other with none doing the work. Civic and State governments role should be merged and while politicians can run the overall affairs of the State, the administrative part should be handed over to a private organization under the leadership of a CEO ( Chief Executive Officer) for professionalism and accountability.

Money is the reason for the high headedness of the authorities and people should stop paying the various levies on them if proper facilities don’t come their way which would be an extreme step and only used as a last resort but hoping things would improve with media awareness in the days to come!
