The right wing outfit Hindu Janajagruti Samiti welcomed the government’s decision to impose a ban on Dr Zakir Naik’s NGO ‘Islamic Research Foundation. The institution has demanded Naik’s extradition into India and legal action be taken against him. Dr. Naik was already exposed for inspiring Muslim youth to carry out terrorist activities through his institution ‘Islamic Research Foundation’ (IRF) and religiously converting non-Muslims in the nation by accepting crores of rupees from overseas.

In 2012, Dr. Naik had uttered despicable words against Hindu deities. During that period, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was the first organisation to launch an agitation, jointly with other devout Hindu organisations, against Dr. Naik throughout the nation.

“Samiti had submitted all information and evidence to the former Home Minister about the participation of Dr. Naik in the terrorist activities and the ban imposed on him throughout the world. Similarly, FIRs were also registered against him in Mumbai, Kolhapur, Akola and Sawantwadi in Maharashtra; however, the then Congress Government had totally overlooked the same,” said Ramesh Shinde , National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

“Though the government had already imposed a ban on the ‘Peace TV’ of Dr. Zakir Naik, its illegal transmission still continues. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has been repeatedly urging the government to stop the transmission completely. Further, the ban should also be imposed on Dr Naik’s ‘Peace schools’ that are poisoning the impressionable minds of children by imparting them the education of hate,” he added.
