The body of a 30-year-old Infosys male employee was found in the rest room of his office at Mahindra World City on the outskirts of Chennai on Tuesday night.

32-year-old Ilayaraja Arunachalam was found on a bed in the building on the Mahindra World City campus.

“One of our employees was found dead in the office building early in the morning on Wednesday. We have identified him, but cannot divulge any details since the police is investigating the case,” an Infosys spokesperson said.

Preliminary investigations, that were conducted after the matter was reported to the police, revealed that the deceased had gone to the office on Monday morning but didn’t return back home. His wife had filed a missing complaint with the police and later in the day, the naked body of Ilayaraja was found near the rest room in the Infosys office.

According to the reports, the staff working in the office spotted his naked body in the office and immediately rushed him to the Chengalpet General hospital. Upon reaching the hospital, the doctor confirmed that he had passed away.

“This is when we got a call saying an Infosys employee had died. He was found in the dormitory or some sort of a room where employees can take rest. He was not wearing any clothes and there were two bedsheets on him,” said an officer investigating the case. The body of the deceased has been sent to a government hospital for autopsy.
