Dropping or resting Ashwin for the series against Australia is the talk of the town and VVS Laxman is trying to show some light on the omission of the ace off-spinner. The message is well and clear. We are avoiding the appearance of key players in the shortest form of the game. And by hiding both Ashwin and Jadeja we are trying to make capital out of it in Test Match Cricket against the other. Arguably the best batting side in the world, we do not want to expose star spinners to Australia and they may not be able to see the spin of the duo in the entire tour, if we happen to hand over a 2-1 lead to the Aussie side, then we may request the services of both the spinners for the last two crucial games. Selectors want the spinners to rest ahead of hard work in humid climate in our backyard and the tough tours of South Africa and England to follow. Why then Laxman is defending Ashwin? Ashwin is playing in England and he needs county experiences to combat English batsmen in align conditions. By just commenting about the capability of Ashwin, VVS Laxman is crossing the limit.
