Let’s pray for peace in Palestine

Israel and Hamas agreed to a five-hour ceasefire on benevolent grounds at the UN’s request after nine days of intense fighting in Gaza that has claimed 226 Palestinian lives, as hectic parleys were on in the region to break a permanent truce. Israelis came to Palestine when Hitler trashed them to death in World War II. Slowly, in the greed of creating Greater Israel, the armful Israelis started capturing Palestine land and considering it as Israel. Anyways, Gaza is known to be the world’s largest open jail. Ceasefire is an agreement between the jail inmates and the police to give some succor to the injured, the hungry and the bereaved. If any one of the inmates protests in despair, they are silenced. US role is very minimal; as it benefits from this turmoil. If US is truly interested, then it should raise the standard of living of Palestinians, and give them freedom of movement. Israeli’s presence in Gaza and West Bank is violation of number of UN resolutions and international laws. Gaza is under siege and population of about two million survive most of the time without even essential needs, power and medical help.

America is silent over the war; but our country India is all of sudden supporting Israel. Anyway, the people voted for change, economic growth and a strong national defense. We can do well with weapons deals like the Phalcon radar system by Israel. We can partner up with Israel in the fields of aerospace technology, biotechnology and free trade agreements. India should take a bold stance all right – come out in open support of Operation Protective Edge. The Indian government has chosen the pragmatic route of maintaining equal distance from both sides. We have severing diplomatic relations with Israel but humanity is also part of Indian culture. Israel is battling a serious campaign, fighting for its survival with armless army. Israel sold us the Phalcon radar system and we need to negotiate more such deals. So, we can pressurise them. Unfortunate incident, but unproven that Hamas is responsible. Israel has a long history of false-flag operations; this could as well have been their evil gambit to re-start a war to destroy Hamas, in turn to destroy the Unity of government of Hamas-Fatah, in turn to destroy their credibility to the world to grant statehood to Palestine. By playing the victim, Israel enables itself to escalate its colonialist policies in the region.

Bombing of Gaza and killing civilians has been a regular feature even before the current crises. Israel has been constantly obstructing all efforts internationally to resolve the basic issue. It does not even define its borders paving the way for illegal expansion on continuous basis. And many people criticise these oppressed ones who do not even sigh, cry and attempt to express their frustrations or try to defend even symbolically the systematic destruction of their homes, hearths and hospitals. More than two million of original inhabitants have been driven out of their country and are living like refugees elsewhere. Muslims helped Jews through the history. They have been persecuted for 1900 years by Christians and Muslims always gave due respect and dignity to Jews. It is a bare reality nobody can refute. Instead of thanking Muslims for these long time support, Jews are making horrible attacks on them.

If the Palestinians are serious about co-existing in peace with Israel, they would get rid of Hamas. Hamas are completely irresponsible. They don’t care if their actions kill innocent civilians in Palestinians. But killing innocent people do not justify the action. People like Arundhati Roy and Salman Rushdie have nothing to say when the Palestinians are being killed every day by this mad Israeli regime. It’s disgusting to see that no one is coming out in strong words against this insanity of the Israelis. Their attitude of wiping out everyone in Gaza speaks volumes of their egos. If they have such a mammoth military might, why not use it to find the real culprits instead of behaving like hooligans? Hamas is not the true representatives of 1.8 million Gazians like militants from Pakistan are not true representatives of Pakistani Government. However, if any terrorist acts are conducted by these militants from Pakistan in India, we condemn the Pakistani Government because they failed to stop that. If war happens between Pakistan and India, people of both the countries have to suffer. Even today, most of the Arab nations don’t recognise Israel as a legitimate state. Some ‘Indian Nationalists’ are supporting Israel. I would like to ask a question to them. If Jews threw rockets at the Nazis from the Warsaw ghetto, would you call it terrorism? Would you call any of your patriots a terrorist? Palestinians are fighting for their country and existence. When east India Company came to India and were encroaching their base and making us slaves, we fought with them for our freedom. Similarly, if Pakistan is conspiring against India to attack Kashmir and occupy it, we Indians are fighting back with our military force because Kashmir is our country’s undivided part. Then why Palestinians give their cities to Israel?

People should learn to respect borders. In this war unfortunately they are targeting innocent citizens and small kids, which should be avoided. Let’s pray for the safety of the innocent citizens across the border of two countries.
