Mithi is facing reality check

Soon Mumbai’s Mithi River may encounter the environmental problem in a better way. Mithi river is a place used for directing sewage water and thus it creates a mess during monsoon season and causing floods also at times after over flowing in heavy rains. Sewage can be treated close to where the sewage is created, which may be called a decentralised system or even an on-site system in a septic tanks, bio filters or aerobic treatment systems to treat your own sewage. Alternatively, sewage can be collected and transported by a network of pipes and pump stations to a municipal treatment plant. So, the state pollution board will instruct housing societies to install plants for treating sewage that is presently released in the river and spoil the environment.
