MMRDA e-office project work incomplete despite incurring 33 lakhs

MMRDA headed by the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis lacks a proper e-Office was a fact admitted by the administration in a response to RTI Activist Anil Galgali. The project for e-Office is ongoing for the past 15 months and MMRDA has already incurred an expense of Rs 33.34 lakhs on it.

Galgali had sought information from the MMRDA about the e-Office at its headquarters. The MMRDA’s Information and Technology cell has informed Galgali that, for the project it had received a proposal from NICISI, on which the IT cell has started the work on July 4, 2016. On the query pertaining to the completion of work, it has been informed that the work is still in progress and the MMRDA has spent Rs 33.34 lakhs on it and yet the work is still incomplete.

Galgali said, “At one end the MMRDA is claiming to create a Smart BKC but its own office situated in BKC is not smart.”  In a letter addressed to Chief Minister and MMRDA Chairman, Galgali has demanded that the project of converting its headquarter as a smart office be completed as soon as possible, which will facilitate the MMRDA officers to sort out citizens problems in a fast and efficient manner apart from making the institution’s headquarters smart.”
