Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, on Thursday through his letter to Delhi University Vice-Chancellor urged him to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s degree public.

“We request you to take the necessary steps to protect these documents. It will be even better if all the documents are immediately put up on your website,” Mr Kejriwal wrote in a letter to Vice Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi.

“There’s a question whether he did a BA degree from DU or not. It’s being said that he did not get a degree from DU. According to sources; DU records do not have details of PM Modi’s admission, marksheet, degree or any other record.

This is a very serious issue as Gujarat University has said he has done an MA from there. If he did not do his BA, how did he get admission for an MA course? This creates a doubt that the degree is fake.

Kejriwal then further goes to say that it raises a doubt whether MA degree is fake or not. But the most explosive part of the letter comes after that. Kejriwal says, “According to a English newspaper, PM’s degree is ‘not safe’ and some ‘accident’ may happen. Hence it raises doubt if ground is being made to ‘make an accident’. We urge you to take appropriate steps so that the documents are preserved properly. It will be better if such documents are all put on website. People of the country have the right to know that how educated is their PM and if there if such serious allegations are made, truth should come out.”

Earlier, Mr. Kejriwal took to Twitter and alleged that the PM’s degree was “forged”, which is why DU was not sharing it.

“DU refuses to show records of PM’s degree. Why? My info – he did not do B.A. from DU. No records in DU. Degree published by some papers forged,” he said in a series of tweets.

Last Friday, the CIC, acting on a letter from Mr. Kejriwal, had asked Delhi University and Gujarat University to “make best possible search for the information regarding degrees in the name of Mr. Narendra Damodardas Modi in the year 1978 (Graduation in DU) and 1983 (Post Graduation in GU) and provide it to the appellant Mr Kejriwal as soon as possible”.
