Modi must exercise restraint

The manner in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is speaking on foreign soil about “dukh bhare din” of Indians before his becoming PM, raises questions whether the Indians in MP, Rajasthan, Bengal , Odhisha etc; were unhappy before his swearing in ceremony. He is being impertinent. Modi has been harping on Make in India, which is obviously good but you can make “ chapatti” only when you know how to knead the flour. Even a well read newspaper of coalition partner in Maharashtra now says correctly that we should first make India skilled. I have been pleading through these columns right from the beginning.

Yesterday, I was reading a Hindi newspaper published from Pune in which a report was published which mentioned about how a farmer turned “ banjar” land into productive one. Why can’t Modi and Niti Aayog ask our industrialists to adopt such land and develop it? They can implement this task but they want everything to be served on a platter.

See what Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is doing. He had challenged the authority of lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung over issuing instructions to the Delhi government. Lt Governor Najeeb Jung cancelled all appointments made by it in the last few days, asserting he was the sole authority in matters of ordering transfer and posting of bureaucrats. Jung also contested AAP government’s instructions to the officials to not route files through his office, saying he has been vested with power to decide on major policy issues. Kejriwal had also sought the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the matter even as he accused the Centre of using Jung to run Delhi.

Kejriwal has the habit of perpetually being unhappy. Home Minister Rajnath singh is not a very perceptive minister; otherwise, things would not have become so obnoxious. Uma Bharti was always vocal but she has become clever and knows that a periodical praise of Modi will keep her safe.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Power and Coal Minister Piyush Goel are doing a good job. Our governments must be ready to tackle shortage of water. Let us hope and pray that we get a good monsoon, but preparedness is always desirable. A nation is considered advanced if you are able to drink water directly from the tap. India is experiencing water scarcity due to its burgeoning population. Steps must be taken by the government to resolve water shortage issue. Efforts must be taken to control the rising population which has become a major cause of concern.

We should be ashamed of our corrupt and self seeking politicians. Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav helps the government which is in power at the center and keeps himself secure. Modi, “ kya aapke aane se pehle ye bhi dukhi the…”?

Mahendra Singh
