Postal-department in Delhi should immediately arrange for a new well-equipped post-office with modern and latest facilities in Chandni Chowk (Delhi) because of earlier rented post-office since being vacated. Till then, Dariba post-office should be given a face-lift ensuring complete staff-strength at all times. Presently one of the two counter-staffers is usually sent to some other post-office like Sadar Bazar if needed there, causing hardships to customers especially when work-load of Chandni Chowk post-office is also burdened at Dariba post-office. Staff of Chandni Chowk post-office temporarily coming on duty at Dariba post-office is of no use because it is not authorised to use computer-password of Dariba post-office.
It is indeed surprising that decade old court-cases for vacating rented post-offices in several areas including also in Chandni Chowk and Daryaganj of walled city in Delhi are suddenly settled in favour of building-owners. It is learnt that similar style of vacation of some other rented post-offices is in pipe-line. Enquiry is necessary if court-cases were not contested properly at last stage with issues finally settled in favour of building-owners.
