The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday filed a chargesheet against Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his associate in a fraud case instituted in 2019.

CBI has submitted a chargesheet against Sukesh Chandrashekhar and Sanjay Jain alias Sanjay Chicken, resident of Punjabi Bagh, Delhi, before CJM, Chengalpattu of Kancheepuram District in Tamil Nadu.

CBI had registered a case in May 2020 on the orders Supreme Court of India and took over the investigation of an FIR registered in 2019, earlier registered at police station DCB, Tiruvallur, Chennai (Tamilnadu) against an accused.

During the investigation, the role of both the said accused emerged. The accused had allegedly conspired to cheat by impersonation using digital devices.

One of the accused had allegedly committed the offence while being in custody parole during October 2019 and also impersonated many Senior officers of the Government of India by using call spoofing techniques and made phone calls to various persons, who were facing criminal cases by different investigating agencies.

It was further alleged that he had extorted huge sums of amounts as bribes from them in the guise of settling their cases and misappropriated the money so collected for his personal use.

The other accused resident of Punjabi Bagh, Delhi was in regular contact with the said accused and used to handle his legal matters by arranging lawyers, dealing his parole matter etc.

The investigation has also revealed that Income Tax Department had conducted raids on the premises of different organisations and individuals including one organisation having a temple at Varadaiahpalem, District Tirupati (AP), and other related organizations during October 2019.

The said accused contacted one of the persons handling operations of the organisation by impersonating himself as the then Law Secretary, Government of India and allegedly pressurised them to pay Rs. 7.50 Crore.

He had made ‘Spoofed Calls’ to representatives of the said Group which promoted the said organisation, showing calling numbers as landline numbers of higher government functionaries, which were actually originated from outside India.

The accused had also obtained foreign numbers and used them for the collection of Rs 2 crore from Mumbai. CBI had taken custody of the accused. One of the accused (impersonator) is presently in judicial custody.

Family members of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, who was murdered in 2017, joined Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi on Friday.

Indira Lankesh and Kavitha Lankesh – mother and sister of journalist walked with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as they participated in the party’s march.

Senior journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead at her residence in Bengaluru’s Rajarajeshwari Naga on September 5, 2017. Lankesh was the editor of the Gauri Lankesh Patrike, a magazine described as an ‘anti-establishment’ publication.

In November 2016, she was convicted of defamation and was sentenced to six months in jail, after she ran a piece in 2008 that Prahlad Joshi, a BJP MP from Dharwad, and Umesh Dushi, also of the BJP, found objectionable.

However, the court also granted her bail and allowed her to appeal to a higher court.

Meanwhile, taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi shared a picture of the march with Gauri Lankesh’s mother and sister and said that he stands with Gauri Lankesh and countless others like her, who represent the true spirit of India.

“Gauri stood for Truth. Gauri stood for Courage. Gauri stood for Freedom. I stand for Gauri Lankesh and countless others like her, who represent the true spirit of India. Bharat Jodo Yatra is their voice. It can never be silenced,” he tweeted.

As the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered its 30th day on Friday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and party workers resumed the padayatra from K Malenahalli in Mandya in Karnataka.

The padayatra will be concluded today at Adhichunchanagiri Matha Stadium. On Thursday Sonia Gandhi joined the Party Padyatra in Mandya district of Karnataka.

“We’ve sailed through storms in the past. Today, too, we will break the limits of all challenges and will together unite India,” Rahul tweeted and posted a photograph of him walking with his mother, his arm around her.

Rahul Gandhi is currently leading Bharat Jodo Yatra- the 3,500-km march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering as many as 12 states. The Padyatra (march) will cover a distance of 25 km every day. The Padyatra (march) is covering a distance of 25 km every day.

The march was aimed to cover as many as 12 states in five months. It will be in Karnataka for 21 days before moving north.

According to Congress, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is being held to combat the divisive politics of the BJP-led Centre and to awaken the people of the country to the dangers of economic inequalities, social polarisation and political centralisation.

Notably, all the party MPs, leaders and workers along with Rahul Gandhi are staying in containers. Sleeping beds, toilets and ACs are also installed in some of the containers. During the journey, the temperature and environment will differ in many areas.

The arrangements have been made keeping in view the intense heat and humidity with the change of places. The Congress suffered a debacle in the assembly polls held earlier this year and the Yatra is seen as an attempt to rally the party rank and file for the upcoming electoral battles.

Scheming spirituality and scandals are on rise

Scheming spirituality and scandals are on rise    4

The sacred land of Bharatvarsha has been sanctified by many spiritually attained people, since time immemorial. It is on the people whether they could recognize them or not. If anyone looks for Guru and spiritual solace outside them than looking for it within, has opted for a fake choice. These so-called Gurus, Babas, religious heads, and these typical cults are a market of hypocrites to serve those who opted for false choices. Everyone in this trade has his own business module and selling point.

Aasaram Babu and his son like spiritual leaders used to call themselves “Sakha” a friend, they always emphasized to their believers that they are not Guru or Babas. They are friends and father figures, that’s why people used to call him Bapu (in Gujarati Bapu means father). He always advocated staying in marriage and married life producing children; one can still be a spiritual practice. Controlling one’s sexual cravings needs big scarifies, see how they have landed in jail. The family keens, wife and children are enjoying what they have earned from their spiritual business but not the needy disciples.

Bhayuu Maharaj was one horrific example, married spiritual leader, as a human he was one of the best human I have ever witnessed but his married life was big challenge to his spiritual survival, look how he had to commit suicide. Today his daughter, wife and family members are enjoying the wealth that he accumulated but not his followers.

Similar example is married Jaggi Vasudev, his wife took Samadhi (wishfully ended her life), there are many arguments on her death. Well my point is that he has his daughter as legal hare to what he accumulated so far. Maybe some part of it leaves it for so called trust or organization they run and people who work for him. Maharashtra has examples like Gora Kumbhar, Tukaram Dyaneswar, Gadde Maharaj but none of them ever indulged in brand making, people remember and worship them even today. But modern day’s babas are like products, once Shri Shri was a big brand, now Sadguru took the market and many are in the line to spring in this industry.

These days’ self-styled spiritual folks are well written plots. They all have one known-unknown guru, then they have some storyboard to tell you about what made them adopt such practices, then they want celebrities, politicians and  people who can pump in money as their tool to the business. A disciple who pays from his pocket to reach such entities to seek something is indirectly spending their hard earned money in the forms of donation and good will, in turn what they are receiving is an enthralled hoax.

Nevertheless, there are few who are applying gains from business ventures to other social beneficial causes. Actually spiritual and religious organizations in India have not become businesses/ shops, people have just become customers and consumers, so when they look for spirituality, they look for a shop and find one. These are NOT spiritual or religious organizations, they are, as you guessed, shops answering the popular demand. One finds what one is looking for!

However, and thankfully, not everyone is a shopper, there are seekers too. They are looking for light and wisdom; they first make themselves worthy, bring about necessary changes in their being and then set out on their quest. And believe me, they are blessed; they continue to find true religion and spirituality in India abundantly even today. Religious organizations are one of most profitable businesses on Earth, this religious business is not only in India, it’s all over the world. Many innocent people are simply influenced by those religious people, so call a Priest, friend, a Guru, Babas or any other religious leaders, and people simply have faith in them.

I have witnessed many innocent people being lured by those spiritual business tycoons. So people wake up, God is not only with these gurus and they are not the custodians of spirituality, it is all within you. Do you think these people will move mountains for you? Remember you have to slog for yourself and if time comes you have to give your precious time to make your guru a brand and collect riches for him at the cost of your sweat. You are the giver, you are the creator and you are the one who has brand value and that is the reason held by these so called spiritual leeches.

Most of the people are brainwashed by so-called practices of spirituality. They will never be friends to you because they don’t sit with you on the floor, hug you in need, wipe your tears in pain or touch your feet considering you a good human who has visited him. It’s you who makes choices and prefers to surrender. The one who needs brand value and money is nothing but a product and business.

Since they are all tax-free, they are already at least 30% better than the rest of us. On top of that, India is a country of diverse beliefs. Most people are scared, restless and can pay you to listen to comforting words and advice. Some of the time this helps (come to think of it, some of the things these spiritual gurus say make sense too, but what they say is not unique, is said by many like them), but it’s the hypocrisy that makes you yield to them.

Please understand, they are in a lucrative business with almost unlimited market share of customers that can be influenced pretty easily. The income arises from various aspects – donations, selling books, printed material/paintings, Ayurveda products etc. In the question, you say that it is impossible to create such a huge empire solely based on donations, but I disagree. They receive huge sums as donations, and often these figures are unbelievable. Obviously, we don’t know whether they are in any other business (they might be), but even their apparent sources of income will accumulate more wealth than what you see in public.

Manan” is a Sanskrit expression which denotes ‘churning.’ Out of Manan evolved “Manas” or “That which churns.” Mind is the English word for Manas and it came from the root Manan as indicated in its etymology. The ancient Indians accorded great importance to “churning” of thoughts. They also indulged in what is known as “Samvada” or ‘inquiry’ (largely misunderstood as ‘discussion’) often with the help of a “Guru” [“Gu”= darkness + “Ru” = that which dispels] to dispel the ‘darkness of ignorance.’ They believed that the “Self” which resides inside every living being has “self-awareness” Which included “Dhyana” or meditation to invoke the self-awareness to know the “True nature of Things.” This produced “immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom” for humanity and this is the primary reason as to why India among other things spiritually is so very rich. Please be responsible and don’t fall for money-making spirituality.

Secondly, the edifice of Indian Philosophy of Hinduism was built on the well churned load-bearing pillar of “Dharma” or “behaviour and actions that are considered to be in accordance with “Rta” or the “Order that makes life and universe possible.” The stress therefore was to make “life” and Universe” possible and this cannot happen in the absence of knowing that “the true nature” of the “Self” that pervades inside and “propels” the body is “goodness”.

EC asks Thackeray to reply by tomorrow on Shinde camp's claim over party symbol 6

The Election Commission on Friday wrote to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray seeking his response by tomorrow over the claim by rival Eknath Shinde faction on the party’s ‘bow and arrow’ symbol in view of the upcoming assembly by-poll in Maharashtra.

In its letter to Uddhav Thackeray, EC said the Commission had on September 29 requested Thackeray to furnish written submissions along with the respective documents to support his claim by October 7, 2022.

“It may be recalled that the above timeline was given in the context of the exchange of documents supporting rival claims to be the real Shiv Sena from your side and that from Shinde for determination under Para 15 of the Symbols Order,” said the Commission.

EC informed that Shinde has furnished an application on October 4 under Paragraph 18 of Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968 to allot the symbol of the party “Bow and Arrow” to the group led by Shinde in view of the ongoing bye-election from 166-Andheri East Assembly Constituency.

“Though your reply is yet to be received, considering the fact that bye-election has been notified from 166-Andheri East Assembly Constituency, it is directed that you may furnish your comments along with requisite documents as requested by the Commission’s letter dated September 29, now, latest by 2:00 pm of October 8, 2022. In case no reply is received, the Commission will take appropriate action in the matter accordingly,” the Commission told Thackeray.

Eknath Shinde took oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra on June 30 earlier this year. This came after a faction of Shiv Sena under Shinde shifted the alliance to Bharatiya Janata Party BJP from MVA.

Since then, Maharashtra has been witnessing a tussle between both the factions of Sena as to who is the real inheritor of the legacy of Bal Thackeray.

Brilliant all-round display from Nida Dar helped Pakistan triumph by 13 runs in a nail-biting encounter against arch-rivals India at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday in the Asia Cup encounter.

Nashra Sandhu picked up three wickets for 30 runs while Nida Dar and Sadia Iqbal also chipped in with two wickets a piece. Richa Ghosh top-scored for India as she played a quick-fire inning of 26 from 13 deliveries.

India were off to a poor start in reply to Pakistan’s total of 137 as the team lost two wickets in the powerplay and the batters failed to make use of the fielding restrictions.

Smriti Mandhana and Sabbhineni Meghana opened the innings for India as the women in blue looked to extend their lead at the top of the table. Meghana made her intentions clear from the beginning as she smashed Nida Dar for a six in the second over of the inning smashing her down the ground after advancing down the track.

She also hit a boundary in the next over making use of the powerplay. However, she lost her wicket to Nashra Sandhu as she looked to play an inside-out shot over covers, ending her brief stay quick stay at the crease scoring 15 off 14 balls.

Her wicket brought the in-form Jemimah Rodrigues to the crease but she soon perished looking to sweep. She was caught off the bowling of Nida Dar for a score of 2 in the sixth over. India were reduced to 30/2 at the end of the powerplay.

India still looked to be positive as Dayalan Hemalatha and Smriti Mandhana played some eye-catching shots and scored three boundaries in a span of three overs. India’s ace opener tried to take the attack to the Pakistani bowlers but was dismissed by Sandhu as she was unable to clear long on after choosing to step down the wicket and play a big shot.

She was dismissed for 17 off 19 balls. India were tottering at 50/3 at the end of 10 overs when Pooja Vastrakar was promoted up the order in a quest for some quick runs. The batter however was run-out for five after the dot ball pressure kept building on the team.

Tuba Hassan ended the stay of Hemlatha in the 13th over as she bowled her out for a score of 20 from 22 deliveries. Her wicket brought the Indian captain to the crease with India in huge trouble. She was joined by Deepti Sharma at the other end as the pair looked to revive the inning.

Deepti Sharma unfurled an array of shots to smash three quick boundaries but could not carry forward as she succumbed to scoreboard pressure after playing a quick inning of 16 runs from 11 deliveries in the 16th over. Harmanpreet did try to up the ante but she too fell in the 17th over almost handing the match to Pakistan.

Richa Ghosh however did not give up and smashed three sixes in the final overs giving a glimmer of hope. But the wicketkeeper-batsman failed to clear the rope in her fourth attempt, holing out to long-on ending India’s hope of winning the match. India were then bowled out for 124 with the Pakistani team clinching a 13-run victory.

Earlier, Nida Dar’s unbeaten innings of 56 powered Pakistan to a decent total of 137/6 against India at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday in the ongoing Asia Cup clash. Deepti Sharma bowled exceptionally and was the quick of the Indian bowlers as she bagged three wickets giving away just 27 runs. For Pakistan Nida Dar was the highest scorer while Bismah Maroof also contributed with 32 runs in 35 balls.

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. The team made two changes, leaving out Kainat Imtiaz and Diana Baig for left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal and Aiman Anwer. Nida Dar was adjudged the Woman of the Match for her fifty in the first inning and two wickets in the second inning.

Brief Score: India (Richa Ghosh 26, Dayalan Hemalatha 20; Nashra Sandhu 3/30) vs Pakistan (Nida Dar 56, Bismah Maroof 32; Deepti Sharma 3/27)

Shinde camp denies allegation of paid crowd on Dussehra rally

This year, Shiv Sena’s Dussehra Melava (Dussehra rally) organised by both Thackeray and the Shinde faction. After the Bombay High Court permitted Thackeray faction to organise an event at Shivaji Park, the Shinde camp organised their Dussehra rally at BKC ground, Mumbai.

After the party was divided into two groups, both factions fought in court over the party symbol and the historical Shivaji park ground for the rally. However, the Supreme Court gave orders to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take a decision on the party symbol. The Bombay high court decides to allow Uddhav Thackeray’s faction to organise the Dussehra rally event.

To organise the event, both camps started preparations to make the event successful. Almost 4,000 state transport buses and private vehicles were booked for supporters to attend the rally by Shinde Camp. Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik organised at least 2.5 lac food packets at the BKC ground. MLA’s arranged the transportation and food for supporters of their constituency to reach Mumbai.

However, the videos gone viral of the supporters show in some media reports that they don’t know about the event. It seems they are not aware of the Dussehra Rally and the leaders of the party, as per media reports.

The Opposition and Shiv Sena Thackeray camp mocked Shinde’s camp, dubbing them the “Paid and Fake crowd.” Furthermore, the Shinde camp denies the video and calls it propaganda intended to defame the party.

Dada Bhuse, Minister of Ports and Mining, Maharashtra State, told Afternoon Voice, “I don’t deny those videos, but what is wrong if 1% of people among 2 lacs don’t know about the event? I don’t see anything wrong with that. “

Shiv Sena MLA Bhavana Gavali said, “This clip might be purposely made to show the negative of our rally and defame us.”

Shiv sena MLA Sada Sarvankar said to Afternoon Voice, “We went to the rally to listen to the thoughts of Hindutva. I didn’t see any video or any person who doesn’t know about the rally. “

Sheetal Mhatre, Spokesperson of Shiv Sena, stated, “People came from remote parts of Maharashtra to witness the event. These things happen while organising the big events. “

The Thackeray faction alleges that the Shinde faction spent 10 crore rupees to arrange the crowd.

Sheetal Mhatre denied the allegations and said, “Give us the proof that we spent that much money. They don’t have any work to do. That’s why they are alleging baselessly.”
