Again, AAP ki sarkar in Delhi?

All fights stop with Modi, as he has gained the biggest victory as PM by securing maximum seats for BJP. Aam Aadmi Party emerged big and now vanished with time. India is one of the great countries where someone like Rahul Gandhi or Kejriwal were seriously considered as a potential prime minister while they have zero proven record for the prime ministership. No doubt, Aam Aadmi Party created ripples in short span of time. The party has the best of members (but with no political experience) in it. Let us keep Arvind Kejriwal out of AAP and then look at the other party members. They are Titaliya Devi (in Jamui, Jharkhand – A Nobel Peace Nominee and daily wager), Medha Patkar, HS Phoolka (Fighting for justice in Supreme Court for 84 riots’ victims from last 30 yrs), Anita Pratap and others. They tried tooth and nail to make AAP a strong contender in India but they botched. Congress and BJP will keep doing their politics of convenience though BJP gave striking show and Congress was wiped away from its roots in this general election.

After AAP was defeated in Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, some AAP MLAs now mooted the proposal for the party to once again form the government in Delhi, with support from either the BJP or Congress. At a meeting of its top leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, some AAP legislators, who claimed to be around 20 in number, are said to have conveyed to the leadership that the party should make a fresh attempt at forming the government. Kejriwal’s decision to resign in February after 49 days in power is one of the major reasons behind AAP’s poor show in Lok Sabha polls. This proposal was greeted positively by some 20 AAP MLAs present at the meeting. Kejriwal and other senior leaders heard the views of the MLAs, but did not show any interest so far. The legislators left it to the political affairs committee to take a decision on this. At this moment, AAP forming government comes as a surprise. Many political pundits say that, Kejriwal has rejected the people who earnestly voted for him, rejecting two major political parties BJP and Congress. How much money was spent for conducting elections? His sudden and immature decision has disappointed many people who voted for him. I think this decision should be taken seriously on priority.

On the other hand, Modi is confident because he has seen the result of development model. However, Kejriwal exposed this Gujarat Development Model of BJP and Modi. Kejriwal says there is no such development taken place in Gujarat. Kejriwal’s only agenda is eradication of corruption but he has no proper plan as to how he is going to implement it. His idea of contesting against Modi from Varanasi constituency was to defeat him by splitting the votes. But he himself was defeated in the battle. He shifted his aims several times. The unsteady approach of Kejriwal confused people and Modi’s strong political campaign moved the carpet beneath all the political parties. If we look at the history then from thousands of years we are seeing that to defeat one king, the enemy king asks for the help of another king and after snatching the kingdom from the first king, they both fight for that kingdom. Sometimes, we have to learn from history. India wants leaders who can take this country on development path and change the life of the citizens of the nation. India needs a leader who can take bold decisions without hesitation. Coalition politics should be stopped. People of India do not want to live in a nation which remains ”DEVELOPING” for another 60 years. They want to live in developed nation. People of India want a political institution which has clearly articulated position on constitution, territorial integrity of the nation and about those who challenge the very idea of democracy which is a prized legacy achieved by sacrifice of nation’s blood.
Kejriwal came to power in Delhi with a pledge to change the System, and resigned, blaming the System. Arvind Kejriwal was campaigning in Varanasi because Modi was trying his fate from this holy city. Kejriwal has no connection with Varanasi or its people and was even not interested in contesting from there. Varanasi is the oldest city in the world. Kejriwal is a mushroom which sprang up suddenly after the rain of Anna’s movement against corruption. If he has not participated in Anna’s dharna and fast, he would have been the exact common man and not a special common man heading a common man’s party. We have seen several such crusaders right from Jayaprakash Narayan, Chandrasekar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, V P Singh, etc. Yet, there is no revolution in India and the system and politics remain the same. We Indians cannot forget and forego our slave mentality. We elect Kings and Queens for a short period and we accept whatever they do without any refusal. AAP is becoming a catalyst for political churning in the history of Indian democracy and Varanasi represents the battlefield. At the end, people of Varanasi and India voted for someone who they think is good for India and who can do a better job than others. India required a real skilled person to solve their problems. However, the question here is, how will they make it happen?

Narendra Modi Meets LK Advani in Delhi; Holds Crucial Talks with Top BJP Leaders

Narendra-LKHectic parley and consultations are underway in the national capital with Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi meeting with several top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to take a final decision on the Cabinet formation.
RSS general secretary Ram Lal and senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley met party President Rajnath Singh at his residence. BJP’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge Amit Shah was also present.
Sources said Modi was keen on a larger role for Shah.

RSS member Ram Madhav said, “RSS will not interfere in government formations. Sangh did not give guideline to anyone. The BJP has set an agenda which the nation accepted, they will now decide how to take nation forward.”
Earlier in the day, Modi visited LK Advani’s residence to meet him.

He also held a series of meetings with his close-aide Shah, former chief minister and Karnataka strongman BS Yeddyurappa, Bihar in-charge Dharmedra Pradhan and party general secretary JP Nadda.

According to party sources, political developments in Bihar in the wake of resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are also believed to have come up for discussion. The JDU will be holding a meeting with its party MLA to decide its future course of action.

The meetings come amid discussions within the BJP and RSS on who will replace party President Rajnath Singh if he were to move to the Cabinet. Since Saturday, Cabinet aspirants are meeting RSS leaders Suresh Soni, Dattatreya Hosebole and Bhaiyyaji Joshi in Delhi.

It is believed that Rajnath Singh prefers the Home Ministry which Sushma Swaraj is also keen to have while LK Advani is keen on becoming the Lok Sabha Speaker. The Finance Ministry is likely to go to either Arun Jaitley, Arun Shourie or some technocrat. Nitin Gadkari is said to be keen to bag the post of the party chief yet again.
The party’s parliamentary board is also set to meet on May 20. Rajnath Singh on Saturday had announced that Modi will be formally elected as the leader of the party’s Parliamentary Party at its meeting in Delhi on May 20 ahead of taking oath as the Prime Minister.

Lalu rubbishes reports on alliance talk with JD(U)

Amid reports that the Janata Dal (United) may seek support from the Rashtriya Janata Dal to keep the government afloat in Bihar following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s resignation, Lalu Prasad Yadav has denied holding any talks on the matter.

“All the news is baseless and concocted, I haven’t spoken to Sharad Yadav,” the RJD chief said.

Lalu said his party RJD will take a decision only after the JD(U) decide on the future course of action.

“I have called party’s meeting on Monday. Only after they (JD-U) take a decision, that will decide,” Lalu said on extending support to JD(U).

“I have kept an eye on the situation, it is their internal matter,” Lalu said on the issue of JD(U) choosing a new CM.

Lalu’s reaction came after the JD(U) appeared set to align with arch rival RJD.

JD(U) general secretary KC Tyagi this morning said the RJD will join the government in Bihar.

“RJD will join the government after JD(U) elects its new leader,” Tyagi said.

“I had talked several times with RJD chief Lalu Prasad in this connection in the last 24 hours,” he said.

Tyagi also made it clear that Lalu was opposed to Nitish Kumar continuing as chief minister.

According to JD-U leaders, party president Sharad Yadav also talked with Lalu Prasad thrice since Saturday night for a realignment of the old Janata Dal parivar in Bihar after both the JD(U) and RJD were massacred in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

In fact, it was Sharad Yadav who first hinted at a re-alignment of forces with the RJD soon after Nitish Kumar quit his post Saturday.

“We are ready to sink differences with RJD chief Lalu Prasad to form a secular alliance government in Bihar,” Sharad said.

Dead YSR Congress candidate Shobha Reddy elected

A candidate of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), who died in a road accident during the campaigning, was elected to Andhra Pradesh Assembly from Allagadda in Kurnool district.

Bhuma Shobha Nagi Reddy, who died two weeks before the elections, was declared elected. The Election Commission will now hold a by-election for this assembly seat in Seemandhra.

The YSRCP candidate won the seat by defeating her nearest rival G Prabhakar Reddy of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) by nearly 18,000 votes.

A key leader of the YSRCP, 46-year-old Shobha died in a car crash in her constituency April 24. However, the Election Commission did not countermand the election as YSR Congress is not a recognized party.

Since her name was already included on the ballot paper, the poll panel clarified that she remained a contesting candidate and if she gets elected, a by-election will be held.

The clarification came as some poll officials were earlier quoted as saying that the votes polled for the deceased candidate will be treated as votes cast for NOTA (None of the above) option.

One of the officials had also stated that even if the deceased gets highest number of votes, the candidate with maximum number of votes among the remaining contestants will be declared elected.

YSRCP has bagged 63 seats in 175 member assembly in Seemandhra.

Jewellery worth Rs. 1 Crore Allegedly Robbed

In yet another high-profile robbery, two bike-borne men robbed a jeweller of Rs. 1 crore worth jewellery at Rajghat in central Delhi, police said.

The incident took place when 44-year-old Shubham, who has a jewellery shop in Chandni Chowk area, and his driver were going to Karol Bagh in his car yesterday evening.

When they reached near Rajghat, two bike-borne youth signalled them to stop saying their car’s tyre had deflated.

When Shubham and his driver came out to check, the pillion rider picked a bag containing around 4 kg gold jewellery from the car, and the duo fled, a police officer said.

Shubham immediately informed the police who flashed message on the wireless. Later, a case was registered at I P Estate Police station and investigations are on, the officer said.

In another incident, a jeweller was robbed of some jewellery at knife point in his shop in East Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area last evening. When locals tried to chase and nab the robber, he reportedly fired in the air to scare them. A case in this regard was registered at the Gandhi Nagar police station.

On Thursday, a 55-year-old Mumbai-based diamond merchant and his associate were robbed of jewellery worth more than Rs. 1 crore by two armed bike-borne miscreants on Desh Bandhu Gupta road while a 38-year-old sales executive was robbed off Rs. 29 lakh by three armed bike-borne miscreants in the Kalyanpuri area of east Delhi on the same day.

DMK’s Stalin withdraws resignation after Karunanidhi intervenes

DMK treasurer and chief M Karunanidhi’s son MK Stalin on Sunday withdrew his offer to resign from party posts after party chief intervened. Stalin had offered to resign from all party posts following party’s debacle in the Lok Sabha elections.

Party workers were also seen protesting outside Stalin’s residence asking him to withdraw his offer.
Party Deputy General Secretary Duraimurugan said Stalin was adviced by his father not to step down at this point. He said, “Karunanidhi adviced Stalin and he has decided not to resign. DMK leaders also requested Stalin to pullback his resignation.”

Party secretary VP Duraisamy had refused to comment on the issue. He, however, said that there was pressure on Stalin to quit party posts.

DMK, in its worst performance ever, did not win even a single seat in the 16th Lok Sabha elections when arch rival J Jayalalithaa’s AIADMK swept the LS polls by conquering 37 of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu.
