12-year-old girl stopped by police from proceeding to Lord Ayyappa temple

Sabarimala TempleThe Sabarimala temple opened for the annual two-month pilgrimage amid heavy security at that time a-12-year-old girl from Puducherry, was stopped by police on Tuesday morning.

The girl who had come for darshan to Lord Ayyappa came along with her father, was not allowed to proceed to the shrine from Pamba.

According to police, the age of the girl, with “irrumudikettu” (offerings to Lord Ayyappa) had been shown as 10 in the virutal Q booking.

However, when a women police examined the girl’s aadhaar card she found that the girl was 12 years old and refused to allow her to proceed further from Pamba to the shrine complex.

It has been a hotbed of protests since Supreme Court last year lifted the century-old traditional ban on the entry of women of menstruating age to the temple.

After those accompanying the child were informed about the current situation in Sabarimala, her father and other relatives proceeded to the temple.

Supporting the shrine’s tradition, a nine-year-old Keralite girl, who came to the temple complex from Karnataka on Monday, had a placard around her neck inscribed with the words “Ready to wait. Will visit the shrine after attaining 50 years.”

Hailing from Thrissur, Hridyakrishnan said she had visited the shrine thrice and would have darshan of Lord Ayyappa only after she reaches 50.

Her father, Harikrishnan had said devotees are those who protect traditions and beliefs.

While two women in the barred age group of 10-50 years had been stopped by police on Monday from visiting the hill shrine, on Saturday, when the temple opened, at least 10 young women from Andhra Pradesh had been sent back.

The Pamba base camp is at the foothills of Sabarimala, about 5 km from the shrine.

It is reported that , Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran has declare that Sabarimala was not a place for activists to display their activism. He said the government would not encourage such women who want to visit the shrine for publicity.

Time for government to recognise contribution of artistes, says Rishi Kapoor

Rishi KapoorActor Rishi Kapoor says it is important to recognise the role of artistes and cinema in the country as they have contributed immensely to its cultural, financial growth.

The 67-year-old actor completes 50 years in the industry next year.

Asked whether he looked at his career with fulfilment, Rishi told an agency, “That is something the people have to say. I don’t. But I have to wait for you people to say that this man has been working for 50 years, but no one does that (talk about contribution).

“The government doesn’t. That’s the tragedy. The government changes but this sadness remains.”

The actor said it’s about time a culture is set in where people from the field of arts, culture and even business are given their due recognition from the government.

“I can talk about entertainment tax; how much we contribute. If cinema wasn’t there, a large chunk of money in the national treasury wouldn’t have been there. I am tired of saying this… acknowledge the role of artistes and cinema in the country. But they land on deaf ears, what can I do,” he added.

Rishi will be next seen in “The Body” co-starring Emraan Hashmi and Sobhita Dhulipala. The film is scheduled to be released on December 13.

Nolan always envisioned Batman films as trilogy, says Christian Bale

Christian BaleChristian Bale says “The Dark Knight” series, based on DC superhero Batman, was wrapped up in three films as director Christopher Nolan had conceptualised the franchise as a trilogy.

The actor played the Caped Crusader in three critically-lauded and commercially successful Batman films — “Batman Begins” (2005), “The Dark Knight” (2008) and “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012).

Bale said the filmmaker would often tell him that after the third film is made, they would stop at it.

“We knew we had to reinvent it. I literally had people laugh at me when I told them we were doing a new kind of Batman. I think that the reason I worked was first and foremost Chris’ take on it. But also, we never were arrogant to assume that we had an opportunity beyond one film at a time. That’s something that Chris always would talk about. He’d say, ‘This is it. We’re making one film. That’s all we’ve got.’

“Then when they came and said, ‘You want to go make another?’ It was fantastic, but we still said, ‘This is it. We will never get another opportunity.’ Then they came and they said, ‘OK, let’s do a third one.’ Chris had always said to me that if we were fortunate to be able to make three, we would stop,” Bale, 45, told a leading newspaper.

The actor revealed they were approached to make a fourth film in the franchise but he stuck with Nolan’s vision.

“They inevitably came to us and said, ‘How about a No 4?’ I said, ‘No. We have to stick to Chris’ dream, which was always to, hopefully, do a trilogy. Let’s not stretch too far and become overindulgent and go a fourth.

“That’s why we, well Chris, stepped away. After that I was informed my services were no longer required,” Bale said.

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson still together despite split rumours

Miley Cyrus ,Cody SimpsonSinger Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson are still dating despite several split rumours doing the rounds.

It was reported on Monday that the 26-year-old singer and the 22-year-old star had decided to take a break from their relationship. However, a leading website has learned the split rumours are not true, in fact, the musical couple was just together in her home state of Tennessee last week.

“Miley and Cody saw each other last week when he visited her in Tennessee. They are fine and are still dating,” a source told a website. “Miley has been resting from her vocal surgery but has been in touch and seen Cody recently.”

The singer underwent vocal cord surgery earlier this month after suffering from tonsillitis.

“Miley always made it clear to Cody that she likes to have the freedom and he always understood the dynamic of the relationship,” the insider added.

“They have been friends for years and will always be, and are currently fine and on great terms.”

“They are very happy together. She has a new house in LA and when she’s in town, she has been spending most nights there,” the insider shared. “She was out of town and they definitely missed each other. They reunited and you could see how happy they were to be back together again. It’s clear they are very into each other.”

“She has a busy schedule and a lot of work commitments that have kept them apart,” the source explains. “But when they are together there’s no doubt, they are crazy about each other.

Kartarpur Sahib: World’s biggest gurdwara

Modi, Kartarpur Corridor, gurudwara, pm modiPM Modi deserves a big applause for dedicating  the Kartarpur corridor to the nation by  flagging off the first batch of more than 500 Indian pilgrims. He thanked Pakistan premier Imran Khan for respecting Indian sentiments towards the shrine across the border that marks the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev. Kartarpur is held in high esteem by the Sikh community. That is so because Guru Nanak Dev Ji (1469-1539), founder of the Sikh religion, lived there for over 17 years. He gave the name Kartarpur Sahib to the place that  became the principal seat of Sikh faith. In 1947, India was divided into two and the Kartarpur Sahib gurdwara went to the Pakistan side of the border. It is said that in the year 1522,the first Gurdwara, of Kartarpur Sahib, was established by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, where he is believed to have died. In the year 2000, Pakistan agreed to allow Sikh pilgrims from India to visit the shrine visa-free (and without passport) by constructing a bridge from the India side of the border to the shrine.

Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur also called Kartarpur Sahib, is a world’s biggest gurdwara in Kartarpur, Pakistan. Modi donning a saffron coloured turban rightly said that besides being a Guru, Guru Nanak Dev is a thought, the basis of life. Our values, culture, thoughts, thinking, upbringing, reasoning, speech, all of these have been honed by pious souls like Guru Nanak. Modi also said that Guru Nanak had demonstrated an ideal way of life. “He prayed, worked hard, and shared the fruits of his labour,’’ he said, adding that the government is holding programmes across the world through its embassies to commemorate Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary.

The gurdwara, originally known as Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, is among the holiest of holy shrines which is believed to be the final resting place of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of the Sikh religion. Located on the banks of Ravi river, the Gurdwara was built to commemorate the site where Guru Nanak settled after his missionary work.  In India, it is usually referred to as Kartarpur Ravi to distinguish it from the Kartarpur town which falls in Jalandhar district of the Indian Punjab. It is said that over centuries, the river Ravi shifted course and the part of the farm where Guru Nanak passed away in 1539 is on the other side of the river in Pakistan, while Gurdwara Dera Baba Nanak is on the Indian side of the border where Guru Nanak used to meditate daily.

There is no doubt that the Kartarpur corridor between India and Pakistan has now greatly reduced the travel risk of Guru Nanak devotees who visit the place where Guru Nanak spent his last days in Pakistan. The Kartarpur corridor will connect Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur. Pakistan has agreed to allow 5,000 Sikh pilgrims from India to visit on a daily basis to Darbar Sahib in Narowal through the corridor.

The Indian devotees, especially the Sikhs, were demanding a visa-free “khule darshan” (free obeisance facility) at the gurdwara for all faiths, from India and overseas, all seven days a week by crossing the international border from Dera Baba Nanak town in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district. By tradition, the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev that  is celebrated worldwide on the full moon day in the month of Kartik, the eighth month which coincides with October-November.

With the construction of the Kartarpur corridor, the Sikhs living in India would be able to have darshan of the gurdwara and pay their obeisance here. It is every Sikh’s desire is to visit this sacred place and now the pilgrims from both the sides will be benefitted.

Letters to the Editor: 19 November, 2019

letters to the editor, afternoon voice,Respect Supreme Court verdict

Supreme Court verdict must be respected and AIMPLB and Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind decision to file review petition on Ayodhya verdict is unwarranted. 99.99 per cent of our citizens respect SC verdict and religious groups should not waste SC time for review as the highest court of our land has other important court matters to settle. Supreme Court is the highest court of our land and its verdict should be considered Supreme and not be allowed to be challenged in any form. Everybody including Muslims hailed the Ayodhya verdict with complete harmony when it was announced and the review petition comes as a surprise.

Communal fabric of our country is our strength and politicians as well as religious groups should not divide the nation on the basis of religion or any other parameters. Our constitution as well as the law board needs to be reformed and amended so that no Supreme Court verdict can be allowed to be reviewed or challenged.

Good action by Uttar Pradesh govt

The Uttar Pradesh government removed Amethi District Magistrate Prashant Sharma, a day after a video clip of him meeting the bereaved family of Vijay Kumar Singh alias Sonu Singh went viral on social media. In the video clip the DM is seen almost dragging a cousin of the deceased. Locals had expressed anguish over the administration’s alleged insensitivity. I praise UP government to take action, because all officers will feel afraid to treat anyone badly now. I think that officers should be modest and sensitive and they should consider themselves a public servant, not rulers.

WhatsApp-New tool for Hackers

whatsapp , hackers, hacking, whatsapp hacking, data hacking, mobile hMost of the people are glued to WhatsApp these days and circulating MP4 files is common practice. If you receive an MP4 file on WhatsApp sent by someone you need to be very careful by guarding against downloading it, as hackers may use this critical vulnerability in the Facebook-owned app to execute snooping attack on both Android and iOS devices. The specially crafted MP4 file triggers the remote code execution (RCE) and denial of service (DoS) cyber-attack. Users are recommended to update their WhatsApp app to avoid being beleaguered.

Facebook has already issued an advisory stating “A stack-based buffer overflow could be triggered in WhatsApp by sending a specially crafted MP4 file to a WhatsApp user. The vulnerability is classified as ‘Critical’ severity that affected an unknown code block of the component MP4 File Handler in WhatsApp,”. The same is reported on gbhackers.com too.

“The issue was present in parsing the elementary stream metadata of an MP4 file and could result in a DoS or RCE.”The news comes on the heels of an Israeli software Pegasus by cyber intelligence company NSO Group that exploited its video calling system to snoop on 1,400 selected users globally and in India, including human rights activists and journalists. The problem mounted into a political one and the Indian government denied either obtaining or preparing to purchase the notorious software in question.

We agree with the government of India’s strong statement about the need to safeguard the privacy of all Indian citizens. That is why we’ve taken this strong action to hold cyber attackers accountable and why WhatsApp is so committed to the protection of all user messages through the product we provide,” a WhatsApp spokesperson had said in a statement to Social media.

The new vulnerability is found in Android versions prior to 2.19.274; iOS versions prior to 2.19.100; Enterprise Client versions prior to 2.25.3; Business for Android versions prior to 2.19.104; Business for iOS versions prior to 2.19.100; and Windows Phone versions before and including 2.18.368.Hackers can use the WhatsApp vulnerability to deploy the malware on the user’s device to steal sensitive files and also used to surveillance purpose.

“The RCE vulnerability allows hackers to perform the attack remotely without any sort of authentication,” claimed the report. The critical WhatsApp vulnerability can be tracked as CVE-2019-11931.

When we spoke to some hackers about this, on the condition of anonymity he told AV, “There are software like NEXSPY which allows you to track, record, and monitor the whole lot on targeted phone, including WhatsApp messages. It is an affordable spying tool which you will find very easy to use. There is dedicated website and open source, that helps you learning what it is all about and how it can help you spy WhatsApp messages. Everything is well-presented and well-explained so that you can use the software for your monitoring purposes in the most convenient way possible

Another grey hat hacker told, “These days lot of people want to hack WhatsApp and get access to a person’s vital data and monitor their activity. Hacking someone’s WhatsApp messages is very common, because some want to spy their spouse or business rivals and others want to protect their kids from cyberbullying and prevent them from risky comportment. The employer wants to catch a cheater and of course to track signs of the employee’s inappropriate conduct to prevent data leaks. Reasons can be anything, but WhatsApp hacking is possible through various ways.”

Another anonymous hacker said, “WhatsApp is an encrypted messaging platform that allows any user to send text, audio, and rich media messages, make voice and video calls from a smartphone and other mobile devices for free. That’s why it is popular among internet users. Parents, employees, and individuals can be interested in having WhatsApp spy software with the latest sophisticated features that will be able to work with any version of WhatsApp. These days 99 per cent of population is addicted to this medium and they randomly receive and circulate messages, there you give the catch to exploit your device”
