Indian air defence forces on Thursday evening successfully intercepted at least eight missiles launched by Pakistan, which were aimed at sensitive locations in Jammu, including the high-security Jammu Airport at Satwari, according to defence sources.
All missiles, described as “cheap rockets” by the sources, were neutralised before impact, with parallels drawn to Hamas-style attacks. The missiles targeted key border areas such as Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia. Sources also alleged a tactical resemblance to the Palestinian terror group Hamas and highlighted a recent reported meeting between Pakistan’s ISI and Hamas operatives in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
Adding to the night’s tension, potential hostile drone sightings along India’s western border were swiftly neutralised by air defence units. A sudden power blackout followed two loud explosions in Jammu city, likely caused by mid-air interceptions. Sirens blared across the region, urging civilians to seek cover.
The aerial threats, aimed at the Jammu Airport and nearby military installations, triggered full-scale defence protocols. Witnesses reported drones crashing outside airport limits and residents watching as flares lit up the night sky. The situation has intensified border tensions, placing security forces on high alert.
