For the first time, Maratha King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is getting prominence as a prominent political party is taking up pledge to all its candidates at the fort on the outskirts of Pune. It is a good beginning and the people wish and demand will come through after the election as a single largest party is likely to win and we are all fed up with coalition politics. The needs of the people are too many and they expect lot of basic needs to be fulfilled.
We should have street lights replaced with LED lights by the end of this year. This will save the heavy bills of power and save tax payers money.
Proper care should be taken at the time of heavy rains and avoid people getting electrocuted in the wet conditions. Disaster managements should be in place during monsoon rains. More and more pumping facility should be provided to make sure that water logging is prevented in low lying areas. Care should be taken to avoid drainage water getting mixed with rain water due to pipe burst.
The city should be made clean by making the Corporations work overtime and make sure that there is no scope of debris accumulation causing health hazards during the summer months. Proper drinking water facility should be provided to avoid water born diseases catching up with locals. More and more trees are to be planted in the city and parks are to be maintained cleanly.
Government hospitals should have sufficient bed facilities and proper medical facilities to control Dengue, Malaria, Cholera and other water bound diseases. Spitting in open is to be curbed and heavy penalty should be charged on erring people. Use of plastics is to be totally prevented as in Kerala and other cities so that clogging of drainage during monsoon rains can be totally prevented. If we take up these jobs on priority basis then we can really say that the Corporation is doing its job well and for that a party with majority should occupy the chair for the next five years and do a world of good to the people. A people’s mandate needed to give big boost to the city with more sky walks, fly overs, bridges and sub ways to make the city most modern in every respect and pave way for a smart city in the days to come.
