The BMC has decided to convert streetlights at Marine Drive into LEDs. Marine Drive residents are unhappy with the BMC’s decision as some areas of the promenade have poor visibility. Well okay, if five experts feel that the lights needs to be replaced then go ahead and do it. The government is planning to install Chhatrapati Shivaji’s statue in the Arabian sea. If you look at the members of the Maharashtra cabinet, can you identify even a single person possessing qualities like Shivaji maharaj? You could have built a desalination plant or windmill and named those after him.

“Leke pehla pehla pyar…”, such a beautiful song was picturised at the Marine Drive. The song jaayen to jaayen kahan….” from Taxi Driver featuring Johny Walker and Kumkum too was picturised here. “Arre bhaiya yahan ki light ke peeche kyon pade ho. Mumbai ki bahut galiyan Andheri hain”. Now the Land Acquisition Bill has taken centrestage. Go to foreign countries and acquire land there. Go to Ethiopia, Togo, Benin etc; buy land there and set up industry. Social activist Anna Hazare has once again become active. He has urged the government to withdraw the controversial Land Acquisition amendment Bill. Hazare has also threatened to intensify his agitation if the government doesn’t change its stand over this issue. He also has called Prime Minister Narendra Modi as anti-farmer and supporting industrialists. The BJP has so many cabinet berths and the party can allot one berth to him. Let him supervise the land acquisition issue involving various projects.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia is eyeing former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit’s bungalow and he reaches Jantar Mantar for carrying out Land Acquisition Protests. The government should construct 3 BHK flats and allot them to MPs and Ministers like Sisodia. If you want more space, you can have two adjoining flats on the ground floor. Let the spacious bungalows be used for accomodating more persons instead of one person.

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that the main objective behind Mother Teresa’s service to poor was religious conversion. I wonder whether he has ever visited the place where mother used to perform her work? By making such statements, Bhagwat is only trying to malign the image of BJP which has already lost the Delhi assembly election. On the other hand, the Shiv Sena has come forward to support RSS and said that it has spoken the bitter truth. It also added that missionaries are responsible for conversion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi must intervene and ask his party cadres to refrain from making irresponsible statements.
