Congress president Rahul Gandhi will contest Lok Sabha polls from Wayanad constituency. He will be contesting from Wayanad in addition to Amethi constituency. The decision was announced by senior Congress leader AK Anthony in a press conference.
“Rahulji has given his consent to contest from two seats. I am pleased to inform you that he will contest from Wayanad apart from Amethi”, said Congress leader AK Anthony.
Earlier speculations were rife about Rahul contesting from Wayanad constituency. There were also reports about Karnataka and Tamil Nadu state Congress units asking Rahul to contest from those states. The Wayanad seat is considered as a bastion of Congress.
