Rohit Shetty not Ram Lakhan remake with Karan Johar-AV
Popular 1989 film “Ram Lakhan”, which he was planning with Karan Johar. But Shetty is planning some other project with the “My Name Is Khan” director.

Shetty, who was present at a World No Tobacco Day event for the Cancer Patients Aid Association on Saturday, was asked about his next project as the fans were “missing” him. He said: “Let them miss me more. Next month, I will announce what I am doing.”

When asked about the remake of “Ram Lakhan” and its casting, he said: “We are not doing it. Me and Karan are doing something else. Very soon, we’ll tell you what we are doing.” It is not yet clear if the film is completely shelved or temporarily put on hold.

When asked why films highlighting issues like the drug menace in a state had to face opposition from numerous quarters, he said, “The problem is that no one knows what the problem is. If you see, Anurag (Kashyap), Ekta (Kapoor), all are questioning the Censor Board.”

The team who made the film and those who invested money in the film, what they might be going through I can understand as a producer and a director. The movie was supposed to release on Friday and according to the rules if they don’t get the certificate by tomorrow (Sunday) or a day after, they won’t be able to release the film.”

Shetty’s last film was “Dilwale”, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, which released in 2015.
