Rudy was rude in Lok Sabha

Attacking Congress for its 65 years of “misrule” in India, ruling BJP said it was unthinkable that a national party has to be welcomed as a “regional party” in Lok Sabha but promised to take the opposition party along in the decision-making process. Rudy moved motion of thanks for President’s speech. Ram Vilas Paswan supported the motion. We agree that our PM has a ‘Big Heart, and he will listen to all MPs but I hope he will also hear with big ears too. Heart won’t listen, anyways. Modiji has a big heart for everybody including Babu Bajrangi, Maya Kodnani, Pramod Mutthalik to Parvez Mushraff etc. His heart has got nothing to do with the welfare of this country. People have given the mandate to perform and not to pin point someone else’s failure. People have punished Congress for their mis-governance and corruption. Now, focus on what BJP is going to do. Work to deliver otherwise BJP will be in single digit. People have no patience now. BJP leaders should stop indulging in unwanted issues.

Rudy made veiled attack on Aam Admi Party. A clueless party (‘bhuli bhatki party’) has now arrived in the Lok Sabha. This is something which should not be approved of. Who has given him authority to say such things? BJP is declining its standards day by day. They have become arrogant. This arrogance may bring their fate to square one.

I hope BJP remembers those days when they had only two MPs on its ranks with Vajpayee being one. This arrogance may lead them nowhere. BJP calling Congress a ‘regional party’ was the most hypocritical statement. BJP tried its level best to impress Muslims to gain votes in this election, If Muslims and other communities wouldn’t have voted for Modi then this overwhelming win was impossible. Rudy’s remarks triggered protests from opposition benches. Rudy said that because there was no leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha. Congress would not be able to participate in decision-making on major issues like appointment of Chief Vigilance Commissioner, CBI director or Lokpal. Earlier, Sushma Swaraj (as leader of opposition) used to give her views, but the then Prime Minister used to have his way. There were many such unwanted comments by Rudy. They should focus on governance not on pulling down opposition. BJP have lots to prove and the entire nation is looking at their government’s performance with the largest magnifying lens. Although BJP has got clear majority, team BJP should focus their energy on time bound development, growth. NDA may face same fate in future elections. It is shameful that the BJP are still in the petty practice of attacking the past government. BJP should forget the past and work for the development on the issues they have been elected by the people of this country. BJP should keep in mind that they have to prove themselves. They won because Congress failed. So, get down to work.

Anyway, finally L K Advani gets a room in Parliament after his name plate had been removed from office of acting chairman of NDA. Mayawati slammed SP government in Uttar Pradesh about law and order situation in that state and demanded Akhilesh Yadav government’s resignation.

As the ruckus continued, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan appealed for order and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu urged members not to create any disturbance as it was “the first working day” of the session. Meanwhile, we missed Meera Kumar’s baith Jayiye, shant ho jayiye…..that grace and humble smile of speaker. When it was in opposition, BJP never allowed house to function and now they don’t want others to speak. Trinamool Congress and CPI(M) members were also on their feet, with some of them urging the Speaker to direct Rudy to speak on the Motion and not digress.

Finally, Rudy said Modi government will work for providing food to poor, jobs to the unemployed, relief to the middle class by controlling price rise. Businessmen will not be harassed on the name of tax. He said the last government was working for hardly 20 or 30 crore people while nearly 100 crore people were outside the ambit of all development schemes and he promised that the NDA government will cover all those people who were left out so far. Flagging sectors like power, tourism and railways are the priority sectors for the new government. Rudy said maximum emphasis will be given to produce electricity as much as possible, introduce innovative ways to attract more tourists to India and construct dedicated railway tracks for bullet trains. If NDA is really serious on development and bringing change in India, then they should stop hitting a dead snake by exhuming it from the past and move on.
