A police official was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths for allegedly seeking sexual favours and taking a bribe of Rs. two lakh from the wife a person who is accused in a drug case.

Kamaldan Charan had far more sinister plans other than just making some quick money.

SHO was arrested after he was allegedly caught red-handed attempting to do objectionable act with the woman at her house situated in a café compound near Chopasani Housing Board in Jodhpur.

SHO, Kamaldan Charan also demanded Rs. 2 lakh bribe. He in fact received Rs. 1 lakh bribe in cash, and another Rs. 1 lakh in cheque. He was to return the cheque after the woman had met his demand for sex. The woman gave the ACB an audio in which SHO could be heard demanding sexual favour.

When the woman expressed her inability in providing him with the money, the ‘predator’ cop asked her to ‘compromise’ if she wanted her man to be free.

Charan told the woman that he will come at her house in night to ‘enjoy’ and spend some time with her. Stunned by what she heard, the woman immediately approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

After verifying the facts, ACB sleuths laid a trap to nab Kamaldan Charan red handed.

In her complaint, the woman said her husband was arrested four days back by the SHO of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar police station, Kamal Dan Charan, for allegedly smuggling opium and his vehicle was seized, SP of the Anti-Corruption Bureau Ajay Pal Lamba said.

“It was when his intentions went haywire. Since June 6, Charan started messaging woman on WhatsApp and sent objectionable content. He used to claim that he loved her and asked questions such ‘Do I look smart?’,” said an ACB officer.

Charan went on a leave and returned a few days ago.
