Heroines usually complain about disparity in the pay structure of male and female actors in Bollywood. However, fashionista and actress Sonam Kapoor belongs to a different school of thought.
In an interview to a leading daily, Sonam Kapoor chose to speak against the complaint and said that all the actors get paid according to their caliber and that there is no discrimination on the basis of sex.
The 29-year-old actress, who belongs to a family that owns a production house reportedly said that pay depends on the actor and his/her star status. Taking an example of Salman Khan’s superhit film ‘Kick’ she said that a film starring an A-list male actor will always do well at the box office as compared to a female oriented film.
According to her, production houses always estimate the returns that an actor or an actress would bring and then decide upon the investment that is to be made on them.
Well we are not quite sure if Sonam’s contemporaries would agree with her, but the pretty girl proves that she looks at things with a different perspective.
