Tata Motors said it will supply its Tigor electric vehicles (EVs) to IT major Cognizant to be deployed at the latter’s campus in Hyderabad.
The company has partnered with Volercars, a mobility solutions firm that will deliver an integrated solution with value added service to Cognizant, including on-ground operations and fleet management, Tata Motors said in a statement.
To start with, a batch of ten vehicles was handed over by Tata Motors team to Cognizant officials, it said adding that it is a progressive order and the company would supply the Tigor EVs in a phased manner depending on requirements.
Tata Motors President Electric Mobility Business and Corporate Strategy, Shailesh Chandra said, under the partnership, the company would provide a comprehensive solution to Cognizant towards the goal of a sustainable future.
“We will continue to strengthen our portfolio of EV offerings across our passenger and commercial vehicles, to meet future requirements,” he added.
As part of this order, Tata Power will supply and install two fast charging stations at the Hyderabad campus of Cognizant while Tata Motors Finance will provide the financial assistance need to procure the vehicles, the statement said.

Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha said the deployment of fast charging EV stations in Hyderabad would help make the city more conducive towards a pollution free environment.
“This is in line with our endeavour to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles across the country by providing the much-needed mobility infrastructure to support EV growth,” he added.
