This Republic Day, I would like readers to read the book ‘India’s Freedom Struggle’, published by Vasan Publications in the Master Mind Book Series. The book has been authored by me. The book, ‘India’s Freedom Struggle’ tells the story of how the British came to India in the 16th century A.D. and conquered the country and took away everything owned by the Indians. The Indians who worked for the British were also paid less as compared to the number of hours they had been working. The Muslim kings and queens who ruled certain states of India then, could not fight the British who were more powerful than the kings and queens. Rani Laxmibai and Razia Sultana who waged war against the British were killed instantly. So were the other Indian rulers. Then came freedom fighters like Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Jatin Das and many others. After a long battle of over a hundred years, India finally managed to drive the British away from the country. The rest is history, as we all know. Thanks to all our freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives fighting for India’s Independence.
