A yoga teacher from Mallenahalli, Pradeep Ullal (54), has been arrested on charges of allegedly raping a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) woman by convincing her they had a relationship in a past life. The arrest was made following a complaint lodged by the victim, the police reported on Wednesday.
According to the complaint, the victim, originally from Punjab but currently residing in California, claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Ullal during three separate visits to his Kevala Foundation between 2021 and 2022. The woman, who had sought spiritual guidance from the yoga guru, was allegedly manipulated into believing in their past life connection, which Ullal used to exploit her trust.
The police are currently investigating the matter further, and Ullal remains in custody.
