Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said in the Legislative Assembly that an immediate meeting will be held regarding the construction of a national memorial to Savitribai Phule, the pioneer of women’s education, at Bhide Wada in Pune and necessary funds will be made available for this national memorial.
Assembly Member Chhagan Bhujbal raised the issue in the House. While making a statement, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, the state government is serious about building a national memorial of Savitribai Phule at Bhide and here. He also said that a meeting will be held soon in this regard.
