Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce & Economics has organized their inter-college festival extravaganza – ‘Dalmia Lions Utsav 2015-16’ on 22nd and 23rd December 2015 to encourage talent and creativity among the youth.
Dr. N.N. Pandey, Principal, Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce & Economics addressed the college students and felicitated all the chief guests. He stated, “Dalmia Lions Utsav’ has been around for the past 25 years is one of the grandest inter-college festivals in the suburban Mumbai. Every year, the Dalmia Lions Utsav’s theme has a direct connect with youth. This time being the 26th year of ‘Dalmia Lions Utsav’, the theme of the festival is inspired by the ‘Missile Man of India’ – APJ Abdul Kalam, titled Wings of Fire – Explore the Universe of dreams”.
JD Majethia of the Khichdi fame and Yashpal Sharma of Lagaan fame graced the inaugural function while Sanjay Suri and the entire team of ‘Chauranga’ graced the closing ceremony of Day 1 of Dalmia Lions Utsav.
On this occasion, JD Majethia opined, “Youth is the future of the nation. Gandhi jayanti should be celebrated as truth or dare day and everyone should dare to speak truth on this day”. Yashpal Sharmanarrated that obscenity that has emerged in the recent times should be boycotted and recited a poem which delivered a strong message against evils happening in the society.
“This year 1800 students have participated across all the 40 plus events where 42 plus colleges have participated,” said Prof. Subhashini Naikar DLU Co-ordinator.
As the organizers describe ‘Dalmia Lions Utsav 2015-16’ as ‘big little’ celebration, surely it is also the last opportunity for Mumbai collegians to participate in an inter-college festival in 2015!
