The derogatory statements made by Rashtriya Samaj Party leader Mahadev Jankar against NCP president Sharad Pawar, former deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has not gone down well with leader of opposition in state legislative council Dhananjay Munde. Taking a serious note of the comments, Munde has demanded Jankar’s dismissal from the legislative assembly. He is planning to write a letter to the Governor in this regard. Jankar had used unparliamentary language against Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar in a rally held at Bhagwangad on the occasion of Dussehra festival. The RSP leader mentioned that he will not rest until he eliminates the empire in Baramati (making a reference at the Pawar family). He said that Dhananjay Munde, who is Pankaja Munde’s cousin and was blessed by none other than late Gopinath Munde, betrayed his mentor and joined NCP. Jankar said that Dhananjay is nothing but Ajit Pawar’s sycophant. NCP activists held protests against Jankar and burnt his effigy in Beed, Parli, Nanded and other districts of Maharashtra. They also chanted slogans in support of Dhananjay Munde.

“Jankar had said that MLC means stooge of minister. He had insulted the leaders of opposition party. I will meet the governor to demand for his resignation. Jankar is only trying to remain in limelight by issuing such statements. It’s unfair for a leader to make derogatory remarks against opposition party leaders. Our leaders won’t use such type of language. If he indulges in this act in future then we will give a befitting reply to him,” Dhananjay Munde said.

Ajit Pawar said, “I condemn the unparliamentary language used by Jankar. There might be difference of ideologies between two parties but leaders should refrain from issuing such statements. If NCP workers are committing any mistake then they should avoid it.”

NCP leaders ransacked Jankar’s office at Singhgad road in Pune. The detained youth have been taken to Chatushrungi Police station for further inquiry.

Meanwhile police have detained a man for trying to blacken the photographs of Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar displayed at Baramti Hostel. According to police, man belongs to Rashtriya Samaj Party headed by Mahadev Jankar. The youth was a part of four member group which allegedly tried to deface the photos using ink at the hostel in Gokhale Nagar.

“There were four youths who tried to blacken the photographs of the Pawars displayed at the hostel. The security guards caught hold of one of them while the three others fled. They handed him over to us,” said a police official from Chatushringi Police Station.
